CtrlAltDel Posted January 31, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 31, 2015 Take a look at this tread > Debian Chroot DSM package. Take a look in your DSM packages > Community > Debian Chroot Debian Chroot Description : Debian is a free operating system (OS) that comes with over 29000 packages, precompiled software bundled up in a nice format for easy installation on your DiskStation. Debian Chroot allows you to benefit from the Debian OS inside your DiskStation, alongside DSM. This package is intended for advanced users only. If you don't see it then you will need to add the repository to your list. They host the files here https or "http://packages.synocommunity.com/" and permissions needs to be set to synology and trusted publishers. You can visit their website here > https://synocommunity.com/ and this lists all the packages they maintain and their status > https://synocommunity.com/packages . toobueller Posted February 7, 2015 Share #9 Posted February 7, 2015 Are you asking if it is possible to boot ubuntu and chroot DSM? (I was wondering this myself, a few days ago.) If not, I think you need to clarify. the debian chroot package looks like what you might want, based on your description.
