She Posted July 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2014 The BIOS reset every time that I enable the start up from "power schedule". Strangely the shut down action, don't cause Bios reset, only the start up. i run XPEnology nanoboot DSM 5.0-4493 update 2 on a HP microserver n54L with 6 drives. I dont plan to use "power schedule" but i would like to know if there is a fix? also if these BIOS reset problem could triggered by another action/feature/service? i.e. using WOL.. For flashing the bios I have the following guide http://terfmop.co.uk/blog/2013/07/31/hp ... sata-port/
berwhale Posted July 22, 2014 Share #2 Posted July 22, 2014 It looks like it's an issue with the N54L's BIOS, lots of discussion here... viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3289

berwhale Posted July 23, 2014 Share #4 Posted July 23, 2014 If somebody knows how to fix the BIOS reset issue, then they should post the fix in the BIOS reset issue thread, not here!
Ziegel Posted July 27, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 27, 2014 Well I own a couple of HP Motherboards and all of them has the bios reset issue expect the newer ones with a American Trends bios. The ones I own are: HP Compaq 8000 Elite SSF PC with a Intel Core 2 Duo 3.2Ghz + 8gb Memory (doesn't show the bios brand I think it's standard HP) Bios Resets 3x HP Compaq 6005 Pro MT with a AMD Athlon II X2 3.0Ghz + 8gb Memory (doesn't show the bios brand I think it's standard HP) Bios Resets I also own : 3 HP Compaq 8200 Elite SSF with a Intel Core i5 3.3Ghz + 8gb Memory (all 3 have a American Megatrends Bios) Bios does not resets and everything works smoothly. My old AMD PC's with ASUS Motherboards and Megatrends Bios's both run smoothly no bios reset. But I wont be using those because it doesnt have a onboard gpu so it will consume more power when a gpu is added. So yea my conclusion is that a american megatrends bios is the one that is supported without issues.

It did not work for me, because my motherboard hardware is not HP N45L. As mine is Supermicro PDSME motherboard. Read the links below, I hope you can find out a workaround solution to your problem. http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3289&start=10#p19402 http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3289&start=20#p19460 http://xpenology.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3289&start=20#p19585
