SilverBullet Posted March 26, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2014 Hi, Just installed XPEnology_DS3612xs_3810 and was going to move files between shared folders in DSM. What happens is as soon as I try to drag a file or folder, my computer starts to download it instead. This is using Chrome. Just tried in Internet Explorer and that worked flawless. Tried to search but the searchengine removes words that´s "too common". Is there a solution for this, accept using IE? Best regards //SB
Skulptis Posted March 27, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 27, 2014 maybe try firefox instead?
SilverBullet Posted March 29, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted March 29, 2014 Sorry for the double post, I get an error message everytime I try to post... Firefox is way slower than Chrome, so that´s not an option. I only have this problem in Chrome, not in IE nor Firefox.
Skulptis Posted April 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted April 2, 2014 Another option might be to use a fileshare (SMB/AFP). Is browser speed really an issue here? If I understand it correctly you are trying to move files that are already on your nas to another folder? Then the browser is not involved in the copy operation itself. BTW I never do these tasks in a browser. My second preferred way is to use an ssh connection to the nas and use some console stuff (cp).
CtrlAltDel Posted April 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted April 2, 2014 If you're doing a lot of file maintenance maybe a decent ftp client would be a better option or the built in file manager on the DSM desktop? Like Skulptis I never use a browser for file management tasks either.
