  1. Is there a reason my sas drives wont show smart details ?
  2. You are a Gentleman and a Scholar!, by any chance do you have a donation system set up? I was able to get it working with your instructions! and the drives are reporting the correct info(temps, sn, and such)
  3. I only have one sata controller and that is connected to the mshell vmdk, Would satamap possibly be able to help in this case because of the sata controller I do have?
  4. I looked for references for the maxdisks in the settings but i couldnt find it and I know they can be particular. Do I put one of the following or something else? "max": "24" "MaxDisks": "24" I will be heading to work so I will test with your guidance when I come home
  5. No new drives visible, Think this has all the settings that were changed..
  6. I tested with a "" and "0" because the other maps had "" and they both had the same outcome. Same disks are showing up and numbered "incase its relevant" the same way.
  7. Also should DSM be able to see the smart data of the drives? The smart data is all identical is why I ask
  8. I found that out so I learned that I am having issues seeing the drives after its installed, not sure why though. I created a VM in ESXI with a HBA and I tried a variety of models and versions and the DS918+ and DS1819+ seemed to work better than the others. The only NVME's in my system is ESXI File stores I do have 2 Sata SSDs which I plan to use as read write cache... I know its not NVME speed but I figure it should help even ifits a little
  9. I used the m-shell in esxi from the github. I am virtualizing it but passing through a HBA. Here are my settings for the VM, I would have had a 50gb hard drive but I learned that the more data controllers I had then I would see less drives. I have moved the drives around and reinstalled it several times but I the max number of drives I could see was 6 of 8. I also noticed that all the drives were 33-38 I am not familiar with the tools or what commands I could do to fix. If I am missing any information to provide please let me know and ill provide them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Possibly helpful inf:
