  1. Thanks Josh I will give that a go by reverting my conf file and hopefully that does the trick! Will report back once I have had a chance to test this out.
  2. Hi All I have 2 HP N54L bare metal running dsm 6.1.3 thanks to @Polanskiman's help. Now im trying to get WakeOnLan working to maximise power efficiency but cant for the life of me get it to work. I followed the guide which i used when i was running dsm 5.x and that worked so i know its not the hardware. (Uploading the S99ZZZZ... script and modifying synoconf) Could it be due to the C1E setting change in BIOS? Anyone had any luck with this yet? Thanks!

    DSM 6.1.x Loader

Hi all I have followed this forum and am a bit confused. I would like to do a clean baremetal install on a HP N54L with 5 x 6TB HDDs. As this is an AMD CPU build what loader do I use and whats the latest DSM i can go to? There seems to be contradicting information stating loader 1.01 should be used and not to go past DSM 6.0.2 and other posts suggest you can jump further ahead using loader 1.02b and DSM 6.1? Can someone please clarify and point me in the right direction please? Thank you
  8. Hi All so i figured out why i couldnt get nanoboot to boot. You need to go into BIOS and in Advanced Settings for USB set the PMAP to CDROM & your USB Boot key to Hard Disk. This resovled it for me, hope this helps someone as the [XPe/S]ynology is so much superior (in my opinion) to QNAPs OS.
  9. Thanks Trexx I just read it, i have version 4.1/2 working but still testing as it seems to be missing some features such as shutting down and WOL, etc... If i do get this to work more closer to the real thing i will sure let everyone know
  10. Thanks Jman420 I tried that - guess it wont work with my device. If i find another way i will post here to hopefully help others who may be interested.
  11. Has anyone tried to see if this works? I too would like to move to XPEnology v5 and I have a Qnap TS-459 Pro (Atom CPU). When i create the boot image on a USB key and boot from USB on the QNAP i get an error stating its not a valid boot image? Can anyone help please? Im sure im doing something stupid but cant find what/where! I downloaded the boot image from xpenology.nl its version is "DSM_50-4528" Many thanks!
