Hi PocoPico, as i am not familiar with Linux drivers...maybe you can help me with one problem? I have a Realtek RTL8101/2/6E NIC on motherboard. It works in Ubuntu, TinyCore etc but I don't get it working in this QNAP package. r8101.ko and r8168.ko are in /usr/local/modules/, /lib/modules/others/, and /lib/modules/misc/ folders (using add_modules_files - this seems to work so far)...I am running on USB r8152.ko currently which works fine but would prefer to run on internal NIC. Any idea to get the correct driver / make it work?

Hi PocoPico, as I assumed ealier it was because the controller is a 2 port controller with port multiplier, I got a 4 port controller and this works fine. There are Asmedia 1061 cards on the market with port multiplier and 4 connectors. those are not working properly. The native 2 ports work fine but the additional two do not. It is not an issue with the SATA driver for the 1061 chip itself, this is supported by QNAP package

Update: when un / replugging the 2 SATA Ports which are not recognized, those start working until next reboot, also in QNAP GUI. Issue might be caused by ASMEDIA 1061 chip which is a 2 port controller, and I guess on the card is a port multiplier which might not be work 100% as a native controller. This card works fine for Knoppix, Ubunto etc, also in TinyCore and QNAP terminal all disks are visible, but not work in QNAP Gui Applications after first reboot

das ist ziemlich normal, zumindest am Anfang nach einer Neu-Installation. Scheint auch von der CPU abzuhängen, und von RAM Ausstattung.

Hi all, i still have an issue to get this running on a J4105B system with 2 onbard SATA ports an 4 additional ports on an Asmedia PCIE card. Trying 653B the two onboard ports and two ports on the card are working, but HDs are wrongly interpreted as PCIE M2 disks and appear mirrored in the UI. This doesn't look good for me but in fact, 2 of the ports are working with the following setup Intel SATA lspci 00:12:0, dezimal B00:D18:0 DevPort 0 and 1 ASMedia SATA lspci 01:00:0, lspci -vtnn 00:13:0 dezimal B00:D19:F0, DevPort 0 and 1 does anyone know how to define multiple controllers in model.conf for the remaining two ports, or how to find out the coorct values for all parameters? simply translating the PCI address into decimal doesn't work, using translation via lspci -vtnn to find the bridge address (01:00:0 to 00:13:0) is also not sufficient. DevPort 3 and 4 don't work Does anyone know the meaning of PCI Switch Port that appears at two entries?

Es scheint mit Logik alleine kommt man da nicht weiter. sowohl der Wert aus lspci (DEV_BUS = B02:D00:F0) mit Angabe "PCI_SWITCH_PORT = 3" oder ohne , als auch lspci -vtnn, wo man sehen kann dass eth0 auf PCI Switch 00:1c.2 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Atom Processor E3800 Series PCI Express Root Port 3 (rev 0e)+-1c.2-[02]----00.0 Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101/2/6E PCI Express Fast/Gigabit Ethernet controller [10ec:8136] ergibt (DEV_BUS = B00:D28:F0), die Netzwerkschnittstelle kommt nicht hoch, kein link angezeigt und nur loopback da. Hat jemand noch eine Idee?

ich wollte dich auch fragen ob es da eine Liste mit Erklärungen gibt. Beim PCI_Switch_Port denke ich es mir: In meinen lspci Listen oben siehst du bei -vtnn dass es 3 Switch Ports gibt, auf zweien davon sind Netz und die SATA Karte, da sie auf der gleichen Adresse liegen. Aber welcher Port der richtige ist bin ich auch nicht sicher. Gerade letzten Versuch für heute gemacht mit Adresse B02:D00:F0 Adresse und nur DEV_PORT = 0, das klappte nicht. danke - das spart wirklich Zeit. in der Model conf steht nach der Suche [System Network 1] DEV_BUS = B02:D00:F0 PCI_SWITCH_PORT = -1 DEV_PORT = 0 [System Network 2] DEV_BUS = B00:D28:F3 PCI_SWITCH_PORT = -1 DEV_PORT = 0 die Ports sind wie in LSPCI (normal und vtnn) - was mich wundert ist der Switch-Port (minus) -1 damit kann ich gar nichts anfangen mit PCI_SWITCH_PORT = 3 oder ohne?

ich probiers gleich mal aus, den x51+ gibts nur mit 4 Disks, hab jetzt erstmal den normale 651 genommen und probier die B28:D02:F0 Adresse aus. Die my_create...findet [System Network 1] DEV_BUS = B02:D00:F0 #also die normale PCI Adresse -- [System Network 2] DEV_BUS = B00:D28:F2 #das war das was ich gedacht habe...schaun mer mal Wie kann ich aus dem Startmenu wieder ins TC booten? bisher lösche ich immer die zweite Partition - das ist doch etwas umständlich

Hallo Tiras, ich habe beides versucht B02:D00:F0 (also das was in lspci angezeigt wird) als auch B00:D28:F2 , also das was ich lspci -vtnn angezeigt bekomme, das ist die Adresse von Port 3 vom PCI Switch. auch beides parallel als erste und zweite Schnittstelle, hat alles nicht funktioniert. Ich benutze auch das Image von Pocopico, habs vorher aber auchmit dem alten versucht Das wäre echt super...ich habe 5 Platten, Das Board ist von 2013 Medion / Lenovo MB ECS BTDD-LT BGA J2900, also relativ alt, J2900 Celeron Bay Trail CPU mit 4GB DDR3 Ram und CPU interner Grafik. Es unterstützt Compatibility Mode (Einstellung auf Windows 7, als auch UEFI (Einstellung Windows8) Auf dem Board sitzt die Realtek GB RTL8105E-VD eth0, es gibt 4 USB 2.0 und 1 USB 3.0. Auf dem Board sind 2 SATA Intel und im einzigen PCIe16 sitzt die Karte mit den 4x SATA Ports

noch eine dumme Frage: In dem neueren Image soll man ja auch Änderungen machen können, indem man im TC mit neuem model.conf etc neu zusammenbaut. Bei mir geht der Boot in dem Menu aber sofort in QNAP Boot Image, so schnell dass ich nicht in den 4. Eintrag mit TinyCore komme. Ich muss also auf ner anderen Kiste immer die zweite Partition formatieren, so dass ich wieder ins TC komme ....vielleicht verät mir jemand mal den Trick wie das geht aus dem Menu wieder ins TC zu kommen, wenn das QNAP Image schon auf die 2te Partition geschrieben ist
