am using version 6.2.3 update 2, does vmxnet3 works on that version ?

@IG-88 vmxnet3 does not show up with jun's original extra.lzma as well

@IG-88 so i went ahead and replaced the extra.lzma with the one from "extra3617_v0.11.2_test.zip" but i was not able to get e1000e or vmxnet3 to show up. the strange thing is that vmxnet3 did worked at some point but now no matter what i do it does not work, so am not sure what is going on here and am really sad since i would really like to use 10gbe network when the time comes

that should do the job but i feel having esxi managing all the nick is more clean (am planning on using a 10gbe nic plus 2 1gbe onboard nics.

ok so to be in the same page, can e1000e do 10gbe since am planning on upgrading to it? and yes i dont mind putting the work for learning purposes, i just need some guidance on how to replace the drivers inside the bootloader.

not at the moment but am planning to. i will try that, also i need to mention that 1) i said the behavior was happening when turning off the host and that is true however the same behavior was also happening when turning off the vm (reboots off vm where not affected by this) and 2) obviously i was using vmxnet3 but for some reason it stop working after doing my ts steps either way i will try your suggestions do u have a link to your post as am pretty sure am using jun default ones and some steps on how to replace them.

@IG-88 you lost me there, are u saying vmxnet3 should work with the latest dsm version ? if yes how can i make it work since for my understanding vmxnet3 is better than E1000e.

edit: after doing some testing i discovered the issue was that i was using vmxnet3 under the network option i found some info as well about this and apparently with the latest dsm version vmxnet3 is not working, it was for but clearly not fully functional so i will be using E1000e for the time being. thank you for those of you who replied and gave me some ideas. some info about this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xpenology/comments/ad7yzj/is_vmxnet3_not_supported_in_the_latest_version_of/

running dsm under esxi, every time i reboot the host dsm says that i moved the drives and i need to recover, i do it and everything is fine but then it happens again on reboot of esxi host. does anybody might know why thanks in advance.

what is the difference between running vDSM and trought jun loader ? also is jun planning on supporting dsm 7?

i can't seem to be able to expand/add new disk to a 1 disk shr pool. it fail every time and gets corrupted, i was able to replicate the issue on bare metal since it is happening on esxi as well. any help would be appreciated, thank you.

1) how can i run xpenology on virtualbox and have it auto save and start on windows reboot and shutdown? i have tired couples of solutions but when i reboot or shutdown windows it doesn't not save and then dsm complain that it was shut down incorrectly. 2) how can i have "SurveillanceStationClient.exe" auto open to live view ?

am happy to report that after doing what u recommended it worked. i went ahead and deleted partition 3, the added a new primary partition with firs sector "9453280" and follow the rest of steps for lvm and that did the trick, thank you very much, god bless you.
