Sorry forgot to say the yes I have enabled those options into DSM and the cfg is matching the real MAC address of the NIC.

First let me tell you I am already a PC hardware/software geek, but since I decided to move from my old Synology DS414 to a custom built NAS there's no way I can get the damned box to be put into sleep mode and therefore to get the whole WOL service working...
So far I tried four different motherboards (of course all of them were WOL compliant) and even three PCI-E Gigabit LAN cards.
However I have seen in this board that there are actually people that can get WOL working and that is what I want to preserve the hard disks life and save power when the NAS is not used at all without having to manually power on/off the box everytime...
Is there something I am missing here??

powerbutton_6.1-0004.spk still works. You might have to install it again.
Indeed!
I was still using v6.1-0001 and maybe that was the reason because as soon as I updated to v6.1-0004 the button was working again.

Everything is running fine after the latest update but the button shutdown spk. :/

Salve a tutti
grazie in anticipo per aver creato questo forum che per me è diventato una manna dal cielo...
Volevo chiedere se esiste un metodo per aggiungere licenze a surveillance station 8 per almeno 4 telecamere d-link
GRAZIE in anticipo
Posto che tu stia usando il software Synology tramite XPEnology, installa la versione 8.0.0-5123 e poi traduci questa guida francese con Google:

Potrai collegare fino a 255 telecamere. Bastano? [emoji38]
Il topic è sparito ?
Rimosso dai moderatori e non saprei spiegarti ora come si fa. [emoji27]

WoL is working for me too, since DSM 6.x.x which wasn't previously possible under the old DSM 5.2.x
All you have to do is to make sure you can use WoL with plain old BIOS settings (not turning the unit off via DSM or any other OS). A number of routers support WOL built in or you can have apps on your phones and open port 9 for WOL instructions. Once you have done the necessary steps, you can turn on WOL in DSM and from that point you should be able to wake your unit from anywhere.
In my case the problem is that the motherboard 100% supports WOL and the machine can go into suspension (tested with a live Ubuntu USB stick), but when it comes the DSM turn nothing happens.
I have also tried with three different NIC cards without success (with DSM).

what is BIA?
Indeed!

I am asking because I can't get WOL working into XPEnology DSM so it would be OK for me to suspend the NAS manually by pressing the power button.
Perhaps we should look at how to get your WoL going .... Have you checked all of the basics in your mb bios first and confirmed you can wake other devices on your LAN?
- WOL enabled for NIC,
- PCI-E power state correct - some boards require power management for the PCI-e bus to be set a particular way for the NIC to remain functional in a "power off" state.
Perhaps search for WoL for your motherboard and see if there's anything to set there specifically then look to DSM.
Yes of course my motherboard can use WOL. [emoji6]
I've tested successfully with a Live Ubuntu CD session and the system went on suspension after the amount of time I choosed.

I know it's kinda off topic, but... can we manage suspend to RAM mode by power button pressing?
The question is how to issue a suspend to ram!
pm-utils or similiar would be needed for that. Probably it's not easy to make it work with DSM.
Ouch so I guess I won't solve it easily, but thanks for replying.

I don't find pat files for 3615/3617...
Hi.This update was normally visible from control panel "Update & restore" on my baremetal with DS3615xs loader, but today when i logged in i don't see it anymore. It was reverted by Synology itself? And ther's no ".pat" file for 3615 in http://download.synology.com/download/D ... 1.1/15101/ location. Maybe it had some serious problems.
6.1.1 was available in all their repositories yesterday and 6.1.1 was being proposed within DSM update settings.
This means Synology has removed those updates most certainly because they had some bug and they didn't want the update to spread any further.
Hmm I already ran the update yesterday, but I hope I won't have issues...

I generated an easy to install package to activate a mainboard connected power button for clean shutting down (instead login in web page).
Install package for DSM 5.2, DSM 6.0 and DSM 6.1:
I have tested DSM 5.2 and DSM 6.1 for the DS3617 versions only in VM. Please report if there are any problems.

Hello, after several months of testing
Out of curiosity did you get WakeOnLAN to work in DSM 6.x by chance?
Hello, I have not tried that option because this system I always have it on, later I will perform the tests to see if you can do what you ask me
regards
Alright thanks I will keep following this thread then.

Just tried that card today and WOL didn't work (on DSM 6.1.x).
Please any 100% WOL working with DSM 6.x NIC card?
-
Is anybody having WOL working by using Jun's Loader and DSM 6.x?
If yes what NIC chipset/card are you using?
-
If I replace v1.02a (DS3615xs) with the new v1.02a2 (DS3617xs) will I have to reinstall DSM or do the migration process again?
Noob question sorry.
-
Thanks, any other cards to suggest people?

I've got an ASrock motherboard supporting WOL (tested succesfully with Ubuntu Live), but unfortunately it's not working with Jun's mod (v1.02) and latest DSM.
Does someone here please know a PCI-Express NIC Gigabit card that is working 100% with XPenology DSM 6.1.x?

I'm open to suggestions, I have 2 servers with these Broadcom NICs and only one Intel Dual Port Card (I don't need 2) I already have enough networking on these boxes each with 2x SFP+ 10G 2x RJ-45 1G, I'm really looking to be able to boot and sustain from only the Broadcom NICs
Does WOL work with that card?
If yes could you please tell me the EXACT model?
I'd love to tell you but it's inside my machine running 24/7 currently, and I don't use WOL, so haven't tried testing it, sorry.
Alright thanks.

Installed an Intel Dual Port 1G PCIe card into the server boots perfectly and got all configured etc... including SFP+ modules.
ran dmesg found that the Broadcom driver wasn't loading so I downloaded the Broadcom firmware
bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw and copied the file into the /lib/firmware... directory where the other Broadcom drivers are.
Rebooted presto, new NICs show up in my Network Interfaces...
New issue when taking out the Intel Dual Port 1G PCIe card the server now doesn't boot and I can't access the DSM via port 5000, I can ping the assigned IP addresses via another machine.

I've uploaded a 6.1 alpha build to mega, for brave guys only
Do you think you will be able on a next release to implement a WOL feature DIRECTLY into the bootloader?
Something like we can enable/disable it from there and set the amount of time.
I see that many of us (me included) can't get WOL working into DSM at least from version v6.x on and I am worried about my hard drives working all the time.
How to get Wake On LAN working?
