Hello guys, It's my first time trying XPEnology, I waiting this long until DSM 6 was released and stable. I see that SHR is not enabled by default, how to enable it? I saw this post below, but I can't find the folder or how to do it. Any body can help? You dont need a DS1815+ for SHR support just edit /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf comment out/delete supportraidgroup="yes" then add support_syno_hybrid_raid="yes" press F5 on you web browser

But I can't even create a Basic volume which I could before. Is that normal?

So I fanally managed to access XPEnology tool, so I decided to enable SHR and to update it. I did these steps in this order: 1) 12. Enable/Disable Synology Hybrid Raid (SHR) enabled by default 2) 18. Update XPEnology Ramdisk/Drivers/Kernel 3) 19. Update XPEnology Configuration Tool Then any volume I tried to create was crashing. I tried with 3 different drives. So I decided to reformat the USB stick, recreate the boot drive with the same image I used before then reinstall XPEnology. Then I enabled only SHR without updating the tool (I read somewhere that an update will crash the volumes), but it still crashes!!!!! Any solution or advice?

Questions 1 and 3 are answered in the first 10 posts made by Quicknick so please read. Question 2 is implicitly answered as well but not directly. You need to enable serial in your bios and the error wont show. vid/pid is a complete different matter unrelated to serial. I'm sorry, but what's described for question 1 and 3 does not work, that's why I'm asking for more details or help. I read every post in the 29 pages... It's my first time trying XPEnology, while it could seem simple for some of you, it is not for someone who's doing it for the first time. And unfortunately, there is no tutorial yet. I cannot access Configuration Tool to enable SHR with it, and the other instruction provided in page 19 does not work... Can you please help me and give me more detailed steps to answer/solve my 3 questions? Thanks.

Hi there, I have 3 questions here from a newbie. 1. How do we access the XPEnology Configuration Tool? When I select the last option it brings me to the same screen as if I select any other option. 2. Why do I get "error: terminal 'serial' isn't found"? How to correct it? I already changed my PID & VID. 3. How do we enable SHR? Someone told me to do this below, but I can't find the file... edit: /etc.defaults/synoinfo.conf add: support_syno_hybrid_raid="yes" remove/comment out: supportraidgroup="yes" thanks

How do we create a SHR volume? I can't find any option for it.

I tried with 2 different HDDs and I can't create a volume, it crashes. Someone knows what to do?

Hi, I finally could boot XPEnology, now I'm trying to setup SHR but it doesn't seem to have this option. Am I doing something wrong? It's my first time using XPEnology BTW. The only options I have to create a volume are RAID (0, 1, 5, 6, 10), JBOD, Basic. I Only have 1 HDD for the moment plugged in. I wanted XPEnology mainly for its SHR which can be expanded. Thank you for your help

Hi, I've been waiting for a whole year to try XPEnology since I wanted to use DSM 6.0 right away. It I downloaded the IMG file to make a bootable USB drive, then edited VID & PID before putting it in the computer. It installs but then after a reboot nothing happens. can someone help me or send me a tutorial? It's my first time. Thank you all
