I got no error. I changed the Nic number using the app(see page back) flashed the image using HHD Raw then used the pat file and so far so good. But I will wait for Trantors version and then test that out for a few days.

I hope someone can help with this. I entered my DDNS in diskstation all ok. I can ping the DDNS address ok but I can't access it via a web page! I do sometimes get "Sorry, the page you are looking for is not found" I have opened ports 80 and 53 but as I can ping the ddns I don't think that's the problem. I had my N54 new and synology was put on using these files https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing Not knowing the original mac address would this stop it? I will try anything Thank you for reading. Later edit: Ok all sorted. I had to port forward 5000-5001 all good now.

OK I got it to format and it says all is ok I just put 60GB of files to test they are all there but in storage Monitor it says only 240MB has been used. I must be doing something wrong but what it is I can't find out. Got to do it from scratch and see that helps. I am used to synology as I had a DS211j. You have to boot from the USB stick. Several USB keyboards have worked for me so I suspect keyboard support is pretty broad. Thanks for the help. I got it installed now with the 250GB HD but when I added another 2TG HD it won't let me format it! Do I need to put the drives in before I install XPEnology (hope not) thanks again.
