polygore Posted February 20, 2023 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2023 machine details i3 8100, 8gb ram, DS918+ DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 3 I wanted to up the speed of my access to my Xpenology so I got a couple of Sabrent 2.5Gbe USB adapters (realtek). I'm a right newbie with linux so I looked around how to activate it. So far I have changed bios to force xhci enabled. if I ssh into the system and use lsusb I can see this: !@#!$%^$@#:/$ lsusb |__usb1 1d6b:0002:0404 09 2.00 480MBit/s 0mA 1IF (Linux 4.4.59+ xhci-hcd xHCI Host Controller 00 00:00:14.0) hub |__1-2 f400:f400:0100 00 2.10 480MBit/s 224mA 1IF ( USB SanDisk 3.2Gen1 0501c2c3360629ebcc9e6c 103e532dd506a1e4ec87d290d2fef3c01749c11aea973300000000000000000000e0eb67b1ff1618108355810785aa3653) |__1-9 8087:0aa7:0001 e0 2.00 12MBit/s 100mA 2IFs ( ffffffd1ffffffb2ffffffdbffffffad) |__usb2 1d6b:0003:0404 09 3.00 5000MBit/s 0mA 1IF (Linux 4.4.59+ xhci-hcd xHCI Host Controller 00 00:00:14.0) hub |__2-1 0bda:8156:3100 00 3.20 5000MBit/s 256mA 2IFs (Realtek USB 10/100/1G/2.5G LAN 001000001) Info center shows the device as attached but I cant find it in the network interface menu. I have tried ifconfig eth2 up but I get a no such device error ifconfig shows this 12345@ASKJGHFH:/$ ifconfig docker0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 02:42:AC:60:C4:7F inet addr:172.17.0.1 Bcast:172.17.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0 UP BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:11:32:12:34:56 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:18487 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:19700 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:3485722 (3.3 MiB) TX bytes:10655653 (10.1 MiB) Interrupt:16 memory 0xdf200000-df220000 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1 RX packets:9047 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:9047 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1 RX bytes:1445675 (1.3 MiB) TX bytes:1445675 (1.3 MiB) ovs_eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:11:32:12:34:56 inet addr:192.168.1.110 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::211:32ff:fe12:3456/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:17869 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:14564 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1 RX bytes:3075468 (2.9 MiB) TX bytes:10282017 (9.8 MiB) tun0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00 inet addr:10.8.0.1 P-t-P:10.8.0.2 Mask:255.255.255.255 UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:5 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:306 (306.0 B) Can anyone point me in the direction of the solution?
