DS218+ HDD from USB/ESATA enclosure problem

hello everyone

first of all I apologize if my English may be very basic, I am still learning :).

I recently modified the synoinfo.conf file of my DS218+ to make sure that hard drives connected via ESATA or USB would be recognized as internal ( here on the forum is full of this kind of setups )

  "maxdisks": "22",
  "esataportcfg": "0",
  "usbportcfg": "0",
  "internalportcfg": "0xffffffff",

The problem is that if I connect a disk via ESATA, I have the ability to initialize it and create a storage pool. If I connect it via USB, I cannot because of this error:

I also noticed that the SMART information or disk serial is not loaded when connected via usb

Did I miss anything? Can you help me if you have perhaps experienced the same problem?

Grazie!

Mirko
