eSata external Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I using XPEnology DS3612xs DSM update 4 on gigabyte mainboard.

South Bridge:

5 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors supporting up to 5 SATA 3Gb/s devices

1 x eSATA 3Gb/s port on the back panel supporting up to 1 SATA 3Gb/s device

now. i connectd internal HDD 2TB X 5 / it's ok on SHR

but, I connected an 2TB WD Harddrive via eSata. for external backup

2TB eSata-Drive is not under external device. It appears in the Store-Manager

(unUsed 1 disks) as pic below,

Posted about that a long time ago.

Convert the hexadecimal value in binary with programmer calculator in windows

From the right (port 1) it indicate if the port is used with a 1 and 0 otherwise but can't be both.

Ports will start at internal ones then esata if on board then pci/pcie controllers. Ports will shift if you disable some on motherboard so enable all ports you might latter use...

Once you have your port binary map convert to hexadecimal and put 0x in front... USB ports would be after the internal and external ports
