  1. You must edit the "DEFAULT" value in syslinux.cfg.

    From

    DEFAULT xpenology

    To

    DEFAULT install

    Now the install option is marked as default value.

    You can change the timeout value too, so it boot's a little faster:

    From

    TIMEOUT 50

    To

    TIMEOUT 1

  3. Ich denke mal der USB-Stick ist folgender:

    /dev/sdu1 on /volumeUSB1/usbshare type vfat (utf8,umask=000,shortname=mixed,uid=1024,gid=100,quiet)

    Daher müsstest du glaube ich ein "umount /volumeUSB1/usbshare" machen.

  4. Hi everyone,

    i have a Intel SS4200-E with 4 internal SATA ports, 2 eSATA ports and 4 USB ports. The 4 internal sata-ports show up as disk 1-4, the esata ports show up as 5-6, the USB ports show up as external devices.

    Now i want the esataports to use as external device and not as internal device.

    I tried following config:

    internalportcfg="0xf"

    esataportcfg="0x30"

    usbportcfg="0xf00000" (standard value)

    maxdisks="12" (standard value)

    But when i try this config the drives attached to the esata ports don't show up in DSM. They don't show up in the device manager nor the external devices. Can you give me a hint what i am doing wrong?

  5. Now i upgraded to 5.1-5055.1

    But the update to 5.2 still doesn't work. Xpenoboot (5.2-5565.1 or 5.2-5565.2) always stops at a random point and makes a restart

    EDIT: Ok, found the problem. My graphics card seems to make problems. When i start the server without graphics card attached XPEnoboot 5.2 works without problems

    EDIT2: Very strange, after installation the graphic card works again. Now i have working 5.2-5565.2 with graphic card :grin:

  6. Hi everyone,

    i try to upgrade from DSM 5.1-5022 Update 5 (Xpenoboot 5.1-5022.3) to DSM 5.2-5565 (Xpenoboot 5.2-5565.2), but everything i try, the boot image doesn't work. The boot process stops at random points and then my Intel SS-4200 makes a reboot. One time it got to the diskstation login but when i tried to make the update through the assistant the web page opens, but nothing happens. I already tried a new usb-stick and write the image again with win32diskimager, but everytime the same result. I downloaded the boot image several times. Tried to boot without usb keyboard an mouse.

    Is there a way to log the boot process so i can see where the problem is?

    What can i do?

    Greetings holybabel
