Nice! Any guide to upgrade smoothly and transferring all apps and settings from DSM6? Or is it starting from scratch the only way?

I have a server running DSM 6 on a i7 4770k server emulating 918+ Would it be easy for me to use this tool/guide to update to DSM 7 without too much difficulty or risk to my data? I'm pretty tech savvy but would prefer for nothing to go wrong.
