  1. I have been running a bare-metal NUC server with DSM 6.1 for a few months. I don't let it update the DSM beyond 6.1. It has been rock-solid. Yesterday, the Webstation package was auto-updated. I noticed that I could no longer access DSM via web browser an hour or so later. All my services that I run in Docker were responding normally. I then noticed a few more things weren't working, so I wanted to reboot the computer. Couldn't find a way to do this. I got an SSH terminal up and asked for a reboot. It didn't reboot. I turned it off at the plug. When the computer restarted, the entire contents of /volume1 have been deleted! DSM continues to not work, although I get an email telling me about the improper shutdown. Synology Assistant cannot see the server. I can still use SSH, but that is it. I'd like to say I have an up-to-date backup, but I don't. What a plonker. What is the best course of action? Had no idea that a Webstation update could cause such a problem. Intel NUC D54250WYK internal 2.5" SSD Configured as bare-metal DS3617xs, using Jun's loader 1.02a DSM 6.1.7 (15284-2)
