Hello,
Just tried latest TCRP 0.9.4.8 (updated 1h ago) and DS3622xs+ now working fine !!
Just a question, my USB 3 ports aren't working, any tips ? (worked on 7.1)
Ty pocopico for your work ! -

Second this. I could not get command line to build for anything (various errors depending on what setting I was changing to attempt to troubleshoot, but NO successful build). Switched to editing the user_config.json via command line but then switching to the new web interface to run the build. Successful build everytime. If I get spare time to go through my logs I'll of file a proper bug report on pocopico's github, but until then, if you're having problems, try the web interface to run any builds.
Hello,
when you say go through web interface, you mean there is like arpl a web access on TCRP ? If so can you provide the url with the port please ?

I have a vm on proxmox.
Works fine with 7.1 and an old tcrp.
After updating dsm doesn't find my nic (although tcrp-friend does) and no disks are found.
Well i'm testing ds3617xs on 7.2 and if i still got some bugs or if i don't have all the CPU Cores, i'll try the ds3622xs+ on 7.1.

Hello,
I've changed my hardware and i'm now on an I5 10400 (6c/12t) and on 0.9.4.8 with the ds3622xs i got no Network after booting the bootloader.
When i use DS918+, it works but i don't got the /dev/dri (i got it on my other NAS with i5 6400 on 918+).I can't create a cluster on virtual machine manager neither on my new Nas.
Any help / tips ?

this thread has a lot of redundad information:
someone there got cache working too on dsm 7
short answer is patch the libnvme library with you pci id and copy it back to your system
another Chinese post with "detailed" instructions, just translate it
https://wp.gxnas.com/10930.html
(feel free to test it before messing your system and/or your data)
Thanks !! that made the trick !

Exactly same prob
il y a 23 minutes, superma87 a dit :Hi, I got the setup working on a Zotac CI323 mini box with just 1 disk
Now I'm trying to get it to work on a more powerful bare-metal system
motherboard is a ASUS P11C-I, it has intel C242 chipset and has 1 mini-SAS connector to 4 SATA disks and 2 more SATA ports, one of them got disabled if i connect an NVMe disk on the 2242 onboard connector.
2x intel GB ports
Nothing fancy, it should work no problem and I found a couple of success reports around the forum
the satamap function however does not works as expected
./rploader.sh satamap now HBA: 00:17.0 Disks : 6 ls: cannot access '/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.2/0000:05:00.0/port*': No such file or directory HBA: 00:1d.2 Disks : 0 ls: cannot access '/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.2/0000:05:00.0/port*': No such file or directory SataPortMap=60 DiskIdxMap=0001
some one has hints on that? even configuring it manually would be ok for me!
mode info on lsscsi command that satamap uses, that should be the 5(4 used) disks + 1 nvme setup that i have now:
lsscsi -Hv |grep pci |grep -v usb device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/ata1/host0 device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/ata2/host1 device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/ata3/host2 device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/ata4/host3 device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/ata5/host4 device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:17.0/ata6/host5 device dir: /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.2/0000:05:00.0
Exactly same problem with 4 ports SATA controller + 1 NVME disk...
satamap does not see nvme but fdisk -l on tinycore see it.
-
Hello,
I bought a M.2 Drive to have SSD cache but the "./rploader satamap now" does not detect it.
with a "fdisk -l" it finds it : "Disk /dev/nvme0n1: 119.24 GiB, 128035676160 bytes, 250069680 sectors"
what do i miss ? or what should i do ?
Sorry if it has been asked already, i searched and did not find solution :(

I had to comment the line #[dpkg]="dpkg --version" # extract flashupdate in redpill-load/include/runtime.sh
FYI : i had to modify the custom_user.json to add my additional HP ethernet macadress.
But still got an error on installing the pat file.
UPDATE :
I had to format all my disks and revert to JUn's loader and on 6.2.3

Hello,
First i apologize if it has already been asked but i didn't found my answers.
I'm trying to update my HP MicroServer GEN8 from 6.2.3 DS3617XS on 7.0.1 on DS3615XS.I got a few questions :
- What is the default password of the "tc" user ? (tried empty one without success)
- When i build i got an error about tools not installed (didn't see how to install that).
Thank you by advance

Hey Ozef, redpill really isn't ready for daily use yet. It's still considered alpha quality code with risks of instability or data loss.
To protect users who aren't so technically able you won't find such step-by-step tutorials until the code is more stable.
I appreciate that this is a huge and unwieldy thread now, but you'd do well to search for ThorGroup's posts and at least have a read through them, along with haydibe's scripts for running redpoll-load in docker.
Add to this nobody's seen the primary developer of the project (ThorGroup) for almost 2 months now and I wouldn't be rushing to install this just yet unless you've got something to offer as a developer.
Hello, i understand !! Thank you for answering :)
And thanks to all dev working on that to make it stable.

Hello all,
Does anyone be kind to me and make me a full tutorial to build an image for my HP MicroServ GEN8 NAS ?
I'm totally noob in dev but i know how to build a linux VM to execute some scripts.
I'd just like to know the good options/extensions to add to make a good daily use build for my NAS.
Or maybe just post something in the tutorial section for all the noobs like me

Every drivers needed for HP Microserv GEN8 would be awesome :)

As already stated many times, you can't install DS918+ loader on gen8. CPU is too old.
Well, you don't even know what CPU i have Maybe you are talking about the chipset and not the original CPU ?
Actually i'm on Xeon 1275 V2.
il y a 14 minutes, pocopico a dit :Anyway TTG is working on getting a solution for extra modules. Until then, you should be able to load the modules after the installation is completed.
Good to know

il y a 10 minutes, scoobdriver a dit :
OK I was not aware that was possible , I thought you had to use the 918+ platform to support HW transcoding (which doesn't support the CPU in the Gen8 )
Well, it's quite possible that it is undoable I saw some topics talking about the nvidia runtime library and able to see their Nvidia GPU with some manual copy of drivers but even that, i'm not able to see my gpu.
I'm wondering if we can install 918+ loader on hp microserv gen8

il y a 41 minutes, pocopico a dit :
Hi, I really doubt that they will fit inside the loader image as the ramdisk at least for MBR cannot exceed certain size. But whats the purpose of nvidia drivers in xpenology ?
il y a 22 minutes, scoobdriver a dit :I'm interested in your use case for wanting Nvidia drivers ? what are you intending to use it for ? a VM in VMM ?
Well, as my CPU does not have GPU integrated, i bought a nvidia card to have H/W transcoding on my JellyFin server.
So i'd really like that we can inject nvidia drivers in any way to get that H/W transcode working

from Haydibe 0.73 docker file created redpillloader (redpill-DS3615xs_7.0.1-42214_b1631729759.img) bromolow-7.0.1-42214 installed with this PAT file from the compiler itself (ds3615xs_42214.pat) on my HP gen8 nic intel X520 SFP+ x2
all is working but when i set a docker container as example JD2 the system shutdown and reboot
I think this is NIC driver Related how can i compile or add this linux driver to the loader or the installed server ?
thank you for all tips and help
EDIT : it seems is fixed with this file from this thread thank you for the creator.
Also tested/compiled Redpill Loader with redpill-DS3615xs_6.2.4-25556_b1631723311.img DSM 25556 (pat file ds3615xs_25556.pat) this one is working great and Rock solid.
Hello,
I'm pretty interested about the loader you used for the HP Gen8 as i have one also. I'm wondering if you can generate a loader with Nvidia drivers inside ? -
Hello,
I bough a NVIDIA GPU Card for my HP MicroServ Gen8 in order to have hardware transcoding.
I tried both IG-88 Loader with extra for 3617xs and DSM 6.2.3 Loader (with MBR partition Table) for DS3617xs but i still don't have H/W transcode.
Am i doing something wrong or Nvidia drivers is not in the extra drivers ?
Thank you.

Hello all,
I'm not a developper so i won't be able to build something but i have a baremetal HP Microserv GEN8 and i can make some tests on it if someone give me a boot image.
Actually on Jun 1.03B on DS3617XS, i got backups so i can try some builds if you are interested to validate something.
Anyway, thank you all for your hard work !!

Can DSM be used with a intel N100 CPU?
in The Noob Lounge
Posted · Edited by ozef
Hello,
I'm successfully running xpenology on ARC Loader on SA6400 for my Intel N100 architecture.
Everything is working well but :
- CPU detection clock is at 2.9 instead of 3.4 Ghz
- Windows Virtual Machine or Windows Docker detect a 0.8 Ghz and crash every 10 mn
If someone got any solution, it would be great !
