HI @ all!
I rencently tried to update my xpenology syno from 6.1.5 to 6.2.2 (24922). My old loader was Juns 1.0.2b und noch I am on 1.03. I configured the new start stick as always und copied the main settings from the old grub.cfg to the new one. After flashing the new stick the baremetal starts and the "migration" screen appears. I update manually via Synology Assistant and WebUi to 6.2.2 24922. Everything was fine, no error. Unfortunately the Diskstation does not start in normal mode. It seem to "stuck" somewhere and will not show up on my router or Synology Assistant. If if start the system via the Juns "reinstall"-tab the systems starts, gets an ip and I can access the recovery WebUi. But also after the recovery the system does not start normal. Are there any hints?
System:
BaremetalIntel Core i3 4130T 2x 2.90GHz So.1150
ASRock B85m-ITX Intel B85 So.1150 Dual Channel DDR3 Mini-ITX Retail
8GB (1x 8192MB) Kingston ValueRAM DDR3-1600 DIMM CL11-11-11 Single
Configured as 3615xs with 2x2TB storage - so no clue. Did I miss something?Regards!

Habe des Gleiche Problem. Des Script wird ordentlich geladen aber der GOV wird nicht gesetzt.

Damn... I thought the problem is gone but it is still there. It worked for the last two days but now it's gone again. Is it possible to do that by scripting or hardcoded in a file?

The settings page are simply gone or they are greyed out?
The ShutDown and WakeUp settings are gone, like I never set up.

I am wondering whether my network performance while writing some files in my disks in so slow?!
Specs:
i3-4130T
ASROCK B85M-ITX
Qualcomm Atheros AR8171
8GB Ram
2x WD Red 2TB (SHR RAID1)
DSM 5-4458 Update 2 / gnoboot 10.5
If I write files on the disks I am around 50-60 MB/s. This is a bit slow for SATA3 and GB-Lan isn't it? The ressource monitor shows nothing too. Despite there is network traffic and everything within the ressource monitor show up some values the network is at 0 KB/s.
Is there a trick to get it work?

Hi @ all,
my system was working great until yesterday. Referring to my pllan the system shutdown correctly yesterday evening. After I left my house today I was checking the cloud for a file but the system was down.
After I was back home I checked the system and after the reboot the energy saving plan settings were gone. No problem I thought and created a new plan. But after a reboot this plan was gone too. I've done nothing yesterday but the problem is still there. Could please anybody help me?
System: DSM 5-4458 update 2 / gnoboot 10.5

nein bei mir hat das IPKG eigentlich gleich auf anhieb funktioniert. Das GUI allerdings nicht, brauch ich auch nicht, ich machs eh mit Commandline.
WOL geht bei mir auch nicht, brauch ich aber auch nicht wirklich.
Falls es dich interessiert ich hab mit 3 WD Red 4TB Platten und nem Enermax 300W Netzteil ca. 33-35W Verbrauch. Der CPU Speed hat darauf in nur im 0,x W Bereich einfluss.
Hat mich positiv überrascht.

danke. Ich habe IPKGui auch wieder deinstalliert. Hatte auch alles per Commandozeile installiert und hat auch super funktioniert. Läuft jetzt auf "ondemand"
Bin derzeit nur mit 2 WD Red 2TB unterwegs aber das reicht mir auch erstmal.Wie schaut es bei dir eigentlich mit der Geschwindigkeit von Kopier- oder Schreibvorgängen aus, bist du damit zufrieden bzw. werden deine Platten ausgereizt? Ich habe mir das Gefühl, dass es nicht ganz bis ans Ende kommt aber das mag ggf. auch am Treiber vom LAN liegen. Hast du da ggf. noch einen Optimierungsvorschlag?

Ich habe IPKG nicht über die GUI installiert sondern über http://www.synology-wiki.de/index.php/IPKG.
Das hat auch so mit dem Paket funktioniert, auch wenn du mit den Mods von Trantor oder gnoboot arbeitest und damit eigentlich kein unterstütztes Gerät hast wie z.B. die 3612xs ?
Wie sind denn deine Systemspezifikationen - DSM? Proz? Modell?

Ich hab Trantors 3728 update 1, und auch den 4130T auf einem Asrock B85M-ITX. Hab einfach das Package für den Atom verwendet, da der i3 ja dieselbe Architektur hat (x86)

Sehr gut, ich habe das gleiche Board wie du. Damit sollte ich das dann wohl auch hinbekommen. Hast du noch irgendwelche Settings einstellen müssen, nachdem du das IPGK installiert hast bzw. gab es Probleme beim Hoch- und/oder Runterfahren der Diskstation? Aber wo wir schon dabei sind... WOL geht bei dir auch nicht oder? Der Treiber unterstützt das ja nicht. Hast du dazu ggf. ne Lösung?

where is the need for changing the MAC-add ? gnoboot implemented read out for the real MAC-add. BTW Quickconnect is a service which is offered by Synology. From my point if view you shuold use another DDNS-service, because the original one wouldn't work correctly - am I right community? I am using another service and everything is fine, because I couldn't authorize properly --> I didn't pay for the original system.

I tried to activate my WOL. For that I tried to find out whether the system recognize my NIC properly. So the last option under
lspci
is the NIC and as you can see the right driver is used by the DSM. But if I check my NIC with
ethtool eth0
there is no point for "Wake-On". That will explain the message that
ethtool -s eth0 wol g
"is not supported" --> there is nothing to set. So I checked out whether the NIC is listed under
cat /proc/acpi/wakeup
and as you can see, it is. BUT I wonder about the missing "Sysfs node" and the status "disabled". I checked my BIOS options again and WOL is activated.
My question to the community: Is it possible that the WOL doens't work because of the missing "Sysfs node" and is it possible to set this? If it is ---> How? I am not the linux or unix PRO so it would be nice to describe it a bit more in detail.
Any other thoughts are very welcome
@gnoboot: Can you give me a hint concerning your system or kernel?

What are you using to measure power usage? Most 3.5" hard drives need 3-5 watts when spun up so it's definitely measurable. Also, you should be able to hear a noise different from your hard drives.
I am using a device from "Brennstuhl" which is very good and still show up very small values and I trust it. This is why I am asking. Is it possible that these messages come up even if nothing happens?

If it won't work either please ask gnoboot whether the parameter is still working in DSM 5 zImage
Maybe it is also possible via the /etc/synoinfo.conf. There is the modelname set.

ich habe zwar keinen C2D sondern nen kleinen i3 und hab mich gestern an das Problem gemacht, da auch mein Prozessor immer mit 2,9 Ghz gelaufen ist.
Habe hierzu mit ipkg das cpufrequtils tool installiert.
Anschließend habe ich mit cpufreq-info gesehen dass der overnor auf performance war. Diesen habe ich dann mit "cpufreq-set -r -g ondemand" geändert. Nun taktet sich der Prozessor automatisch runter, und sobald leistung benötigt wird wieder hoch. Dies kann alles mit cpufreq-info überprüft werden.
Um bei jeden Start den governor zu setzten habe ich den befehl einfach zusätzlich zu meinen sabnzb script in /usr/syno/etc/rc.d/ hinzugefügt.

welchen i3 hast du? Ich habe nen 4130T und würde mich ebenso für dieses Feature interessieren bzw. generell dafür, dass ich ein paar Sachen auslesen kann. Leider kann ich das IPKG nicht über die GUI laden. Habe alles als Paketquelle eingetragen aber es wird mir nichts angezeigt. Gibt es einen Haken? Nutze DSM 5-4458 Update 1 mit gnoboot 10.5 alpha.

I am on gnoboot 10.5 alpha / DSM 5-4458 update 1. If I can trust the protocoll of DSM my HDDs go into hibernation because if I log in after the hibernation time there is an entry "Internal disks woke up from hibernation" BUT I cant declare lower power consumption. Is that normal? I am unsing two WD Red 2TB in RAID1.

die ist auch zuständig für WOL. wenn man die RICHTIG beatbeite kann man darduch auch WOL aktivieren un dann ist im System auch eine haken drin.
Ich übernhemen aber KEINE Haftung für irgendwelche schäden oder der gleichen
Kannst du ggf., sagen, wie genau diese Settings vollführt werden? Ich habe das Problem, dass im BIOS alles an ist bzgl. WOL aber das System wacht nicht auf, nicht mal durch ein MagicPackage von der FritzBox, was sonst mit all meinen Rechnen geht. Wenn ich im System WOL über LAN 1 aktiviere und abspeichere, dann kommt zwar keine Fehlermeldung aber der Haken wird auch nicht gespeichert.

such mal in der angebene Datei nach dem Kürzel "WOL" da kannst du die Kürzel (p,u,m,g usw..) eingbeben
Das habe ich bereits gemacht und ich konnte dadurch den Haken "reinzaubern" ABER gebracht hat es null. Es gibt ja einen Grund, warum die Haken nach dem Speichern immer wieder raus sind oder hat es danach bei dir RICHTIG funktioniert?

That model is weird, by default it is a DS3612xs... The serial number should not have any effect on it, as there's a separate zImage parameter (model=modelname) for that.Im on 10.5 in ESXi 5.5 and im also looking to change the model (to DS412+)
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
You can do it this way. Same like the S/N.

Yeah, I've got the DS3612xs from the alpha. I was using the gnoboot.me and there I've got the strange model number.
