What about Docker? Is it running properly?
-
I ordered an DS414. Anyway: Thank you gnoboot and trantor for your great work.
-
So maybe an admin should made our threads sticky: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2833

Since DSM 5 uses OpenSSL it is affected by the SSL Heartbleed Bug: http://techcrunch.com/2014/04/07/massiv ... -internet/
So until it's fixed your https connection to your XPEnology DS is not secure and all data could be decrypted (including your credentials).
-
So he has to update do 3827 first since it is a "big" update: http://xpenology.trantor.be/beta/
Afterwards you can update to DSM4.3-3827 update 1 as described above!
-
me too... Unable to update in 3827...
1 - Download from GUI
2 - sed 's/flashupdateDeb/flashupdateDeb1/' /autoupd@te.info > /autoupd@te.info1
3 - mv /autoupd@te.info1 /autoupd@te.info
4 - Update from GUI
and after, I have an empty popup with just one button "OK" (no error message) but nothing... I'm always in "DSM 4.3-3810 Update 4"
Today, I can't download download "DSM4.3-3827 update 1" but just only "DSM5.0-4458"

For me it worked. On which Version are you?

Since i updated to Beta7 Push Notification is broken for me. Does anybody else have the problem?
-
This won't work because the Update is a *.pat file. So we have to wait!

Get the SN of the failing drive, shut down the DS and search for the drive.

worked mostly great on my n54l. almost nothing was lost and crashplan still worked after I upgraded java to v7.
having trouble with owncloud after the move from sqlight to mariadb in DSM5. myphpadmin doesn't work either.
Can you please tell me if Push Notification is working for you?
-
How I fixed HDD not sleeping problem on N54L:
-Change the time (minutes) after which the HDDs should go to sleep an save-
-Change back to the desired time and save
Sleeping should now work!

Would you consider XPEnology stable enough to use in production?
I just got a new NAS and installed Openmediavault on it. It's great, but I still miss the ease of DSM.
Would you guys feels safe running DSM natively installed on your NAS?
Of course I'll backup my most essential data with Crashplan or something similar, but still, it's no fun having your system collapse.
If the OS would fail, will my data still be intact and be able to be saved if I reinstall or use another OS to access the data?
If your data is worth the cost of an real Synology DS and you have no idea what you're doing, you should get a real DS. It's up to you to to know and ret the risk, since it's your data that will get lost. So if you're not 100% aware of what are the risks, get a real DS.

New HP Gen 8 Installation, best practice?
in DSM 5.2 and earlier (Legacy)

Could some measure the power consumption of the HP Gen 8 with DSM natively installed? Is Docker working?
