  1. Never mind, just went the whole path through all intermediate versions. Newest 4.3, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2. That worked perfectly.
  2. Even if you do packet forwarding the fast path, without involving all the TCP/IP stack built into the linux kernel, all the forwarding sill needs to be handled by your processor. Try some 1G links and see how much you can saturate them. I highly doubt that you'll gain benefits from 10GE interfaces, because your CPU probably won't be able to forward that much traffic.
  3. Hey all, I got a rather old box running DSM 4.3-3810 for years now, which I want to update to 6.0 software. I understand that I cannot upgrade directly, I need to update to 5.2 first. But is it safe to upgrade from 4.3-3810 directly to DSM 5.2-5565 using this guide: http://xpenology.me/how-to-update-to-dsm-5-2-5565/? If not, what would be the best update path? It is a RAID 5 with 4 disks having 4TB each, so I won't be able to backup everything, but the most important data should be possible. Ideally I hence would like to upgrade keeping the existing data. If you need any additional information to answer this question, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you in advance and thank you for the effort you put into this project! Regards waza-ari
