Hello everyone, I would like to share a personal project that I am developing. It is another loader for TTG Redpill, intended to be as automatic and user-friendly as possible.

The link is below, download the image and record it on a flash drive, the rest is done on the same computer.

I'm Brazilian and I'm not good at English language, so forgive me for translation errors.

I used forum knowledge and code from various loaders developed by TTG, pocopico, jumkey, Jun and many others.

    Hope you like it.

Edit: An important information that I forgot to mention is that I developed a simple patch to no longer display the DUMMY port error on models without device-tree, the user will be able to install without having to worry about it

nice ! it is really good!

    Dear

I am using v1.02b 3615xs, in esxi 5.5, I already amend the sn and mac,

Before, it would not show the following error, and all video could view in ds video and ds photo.

    "  System failed to convert video [/volume1/photo/.../2016-12-24 chung wedding/20161224 (9).MTS] to mpeg4  "

    "  System failed to convert video [/volume1/photo/.../2016-12-24 chung wedding/20161224 (9).MTS] to mpeg4  "

    ... etc.,

After upgrade to 6.x.x, all video could not be covert,

Is it due to sn/mac address problem?

    Thanks!

    Anyone could help?

Using Jun's loader 1.02a with 6.1.1update4. Everything was working fine until this weekend when I found a problem. I uploaded a couple of video's to photo station and noticed the system log says video conversion failed. Opened the log and found the following messages:

synocodectool: G1Licence.cpp:79 Licence not Success, error msg "SN format is wrong."
    synocodectool: SYNOCodecPatentG1.cpp:236 ValidateG1Licence failed
synoflvconv: synoflvconv.cpp:575 Failed to convert video [/volume1/photo/test/IMG_4444.MOV] to h.264 mp4.

So looks like synocodectool is checking SN before doing any video conversion. And somehow the SN format is wrong. I'm using the SN generated from "the new generator" (https://xpenology.github.io/serial_generator/serial_generator_new.html), which has 13 digits (1*30LWN******). I've tried a couple others but got the same error. Then I tried the old format (10 digits) and still got the same error.

Since when did DSM begin to check SN when it does video conversion? Has anyone seen a similar issue?

I'm always under the impression that you only need an SN/MAC for Quick connect, which I don't really need. If DSM begins to enforce SN checking for vidoe conversion, that would have a bigger impact on Xpenology.

If anyone knows how to get around this, please let me know. Thank you!

Yes I go the same problem!?

    Sad to know that

  5. Photostation 6 Video Playback with DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2 - Differences between DS3615XS and DS3617XS

When running DSM 5.2 on my xpenology DS3615XS, the Photostation application worked flawlessly and had no problems displaying both photos and videos that were in the Photostation folders.

Since I upgraded to DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2 (and earlier iterations of 6.1) as a DS3617XS, Photostation continues to work OK, but it will no longer playback the video segments that were playing correctly in the earlier version of Photostation. The very same videos play correctly on my Synology DS1513+ (Atom based) NAS under DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2.

I'm thinking that perhaps I should create a Jun's DS3615XS bootloader v1.02a to replace the Jun's DS3617XS v1.02a2 that currently booting the xPenology box. I'm thinking this may solve the Photostation video playback issues.

Does anybody have any cautionary warnings before I go down this path.

If I create a new DS3615XS bootloader using Jun's v1.02a, is it simply a matter of shutting down the xPenology DS3617XS, replacing the v1.02a2 bootloader USB stick with one with the DS3615XS v1.02a loader, and restarting the NAS? Am I missing any issues that would stop the box continuing to operate, this time emulating a DS3615XS with the same version of DSM (DSM 6.1.1-15101 Update 2)?

My box comprises: Supermicro X10SL7-F mbrd, Xeon E3-1241v3, 16GB (2x8GB ECC), 4x8TB WD80EFZX HDD in RAID 6 config: baremetal.

ffmpeg delivered with DSM 6.1 is buggy.

How I fixed the issue is downloading the latest ffmpeg binaries and replacing the buggy ffmpeg in /bin

    Download from https://www.johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/

Could you provided the full path? Can't find where to place...

    Thx!

  6. Maybe its a stupid question but how can i change the mac sn and vid/pid on the usb img

    *edit*

    Got it

    Dear ...

I booted up , but how can i do it? Mount which one and/or edit ?

Where did I find the files to edit ...

    Thank!

    p.s. I only could see a 20M volume, with zImage, rd.gz , ... etc

Fixed by mount the zImage and edit the config.

    Thanks for all

  7. Carlchan, I would advice you an Ubuntu Desktop live cd. Mount the EFI partition with the disk manager and simply edit the GRUb configuration file.

Don't forget to put the disk as persistent before doing that, else the modifications will be lost (I put it as non persistent in the template).

    Thanks! Let me try...

  8. Here is a working version for ESXi 6 (or 5.5) :

    https://mega.nz/#!7Y0zCQ6A!KyMADeLGTsnC ... Ds8rpGEvEY

It's an OVF template with HW v10. Everything seems to work. RDM disk on LSI Virtual SAS SCSI controller are detected properly with power management, BTRFS and TV Tuner work.

Jun, your version is HW v11 and for some reasons it ask for a reinstall in a loop so it does not work.

    Kind regards

This worked perfectly on ESXi 6.0, solved my issue.

It is good for my esxi, the first ovf could make a usable vm,

but It cannot make the second, it always say no system on the dos booting screen,

    ... ohmmmm ....

I need to change the MAC and/or s/n, before i start the vm?

[edit] temp. fixed by re-unzip the ovf file and change the lan.

But what is the easier way to change mac and s/n ? which linux live cd is good ? how to mount the img?

  9. Also, Has anyone got Let's Encrypt working on this version?

I can't seem to get it working.

I can confirm that it works!

Though, be sure to forward Port 80 from your wan router to your dsm6 ip.

Let's Encrypt places a tooken on your server, that needs to be accessible form the internet.

    how to ? i can't make it work ...

  10. Sorry for my poor English, I will try to update the information posted here.

    NanoBoot's Chinese website is: http://nanoboot.tk

If your native language is English, Please visit the following URL:

    http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... boot.tk%2F

I'm working on 5.0-4482, prior to this, we need to solve the verification problem.

    Dear sansome,

Thank you for your great work!

I got a problem, the DSM vm would halt by a random of time (some hours or some days),

It have no response, no error message, those happen on gnoboot/nanoboot,

last time in gnoboot, it show something about ext4 file system problem,

It should be fix by hardware reboot, dsm vm cannot shutdown by exsi,

other then that the system running very smooth now,

    While others vm still alive/active.

    my esxi config:

    - N40L 16G Ram

    - RDM hdd for DSM by 9261-8i in Raid 0

    - one pcie 1x intel lan

    Thank you!

  11. my esxi 5.5 server runs off an mini ITX motherboard w/ i7 3770T (that would be wasted just for DSM). It also runs a VM with Windows 8.1 for Windows Media Center (to watch live TV with a cablecard via WMC extenders like xbox 360). It records to an iSCSI LUN from my DSM VM. I also have a Linux VM for when I need to play around with linux. It's also a lot easier to manage once you have it setup.

It also makes it a lot easier to test various things, like new releases of DSM, or DSM boot images such as gnoboot/nanoboot. Why play with real data when you can quickly make a test VM?

    Dear Diverge,

Did you find any problem of nanoboot/gnoboot?

  12. This week-end I build a working 4.3-3827 build for ESXi with PVSCSI support.

I'm having issues building open-vm-Tools and no time to troubleshoot it.

I will just include the bootstrap setup script and post this updated build soon.

If I have time I will look to get iSCSI working in iet mode.

    EDIT:

I sucessfully get iSCSI (regular and block) working in iet mode.

For regular mode, LUN must be created with advanced LUN features disabled (otherwise errors about vaai occurs).

For now : CIFS, NFS, iSCSI ok

    Dear

    Would VPN work?
