What platform are you looking to build?
I have a Dell R620 with a PERC H310 in IT mode, with the DS3622xs+ installed and running great.

Do a listmods command to see what drivers you will need and then build your loader.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! i am going to install DS3622xs+ as well. Glad to heard that PERC H310 in IT Mode works well with TCRP loader.

mpt2sas and later that one was integrated into mpt3sas driver and the old driver name is just a alias the is used with mpt3sas

3615/3617/3622 com with generic drivers, 3617 and 3622 have newer version of that driver that supports some "newer" 12G SAS controller

really newer controller like the tri-mode might only be supported with extension drivers and that should be checked before assuming it will work (check the pcie id's in the driver near "vermagic" or use modinfo on a normal linux with that driver)

there where serious problems with 918+ on 6.2.3 when using hdd sleep that could result in damaged raid's, i have not checked if thats still a problem with 7.x and rp loader

its 100% safe to use 3622 with its generic 7.x driver

synology did not publish any of the lsi sas drivers they use, so we dont know how much they are modded to go with synologys modded kernel

if a driver as extension works (like showing smart into and serial numbers of disks) and hdd sleep is tested with it then i'd say its safe enough

i stopped using lsi sas controllers myself and switched to newer pcie 3.0 capable ahci controllers instead, so take this with a grain of salt when it comes to dsm 7.x and rp loader

you can read some comments here

    https://xpenology.com/forum/topic/56163-discussion-on-lsi-array-cards-of-dsm70/#comment-271770

and there is also the udpate section in the forum you can check for lsi sas controller owners (look for sas hba and it-mode)

Thanks for the explanation. Really open up my options between HBA cards and PCIE 3.0 AHCI controllers.

Although it is a Marvell chipset, it seems difficult for me to guarantee whether it works with REDPILL.

I think it would be good to aggregate not only DSM installation success or failure data, but also success or failure data for various SATA controllers.

I know this information is still scattered here and there.

    Thanks mate for the reply.

I will getting a free SATA card with Marvell chipset. Will try it out and post my feedback at here.

The Sata controller I was using other than the HBA was using one 6-port product with a 4+2 mix of Marvell and ASMedia chipsets.
In DSM 6, these ports worked without any problem,
After changing to RedPill, only Marvell chipset works.
I have little experience with ASMEDIA chipsets. sorry.

    Hi @Peter Suh

Regarding the Marvell chipset SATA Controller, Do you think this will works with RedPills?

    http://www.iocrest.com/index.php?id=2208

It runs on the Marvell chipset, so theoretically it should works with RedPill right?

  7. Hi there, I am sort of new to HBA cards when comes to Xpenology. I am planning to buy a Dell PERC H310 HBA card but I would like to know is this card supported by the Tiny Core Red Pill loader? I tried to lookup at the Github but i find no luck (not familiar with the rp-ext given code name)

    Thanks for the help!

I've been able to get an intel 10400t CPU and ASRock H410M-ITX/ac motherboard up and running in combination with the 1.03b DS3615xs loader, however DSM recognizes only 8 cores. I've read somewhere that this is the limit DS3615xs but I am not quite sure if this is the reason. The geekbench result is also comparable low (My system got 3700 points whereas other 10400t users have more than 4500 Geekbench 5 multi score)

Interestingly the onboard NIC Intel-219V wasn't recognized by DSM, but it is working perfectly on my main NAS (ASRock Z370M Pro4). Any ideas why the onboard NIC work on the second mainboard and doesn't on the ASRock H410M-ITX/ac?

I would suggest you use bootloader 1.04B + DS918 in order to get your ASRock H410M-ITX/ac onboard NIC Intel-219V recognized by DSM.

I read it from here that Intel-219V is supported
