Lost my config while update from 7.1 to 7.2?

Hello, 

I used ARPL Loader for one year with DSM 7.1 - and now I wanted to update to DSM 7.2

ARPL seems not to be updated anymore, so I used ARC Bootloader on a new stick to update to DSM 7.2 

Unfortunately it seems, that this means, that my complety configuration is gone now. The new DSM does not recognized the old config, and it shows me the nas as a complete new system  The data itself are still on my data disk, but I cant use them. That are mainly Active Backup for Business backups (VMs, Agent Backups and Share Backups). So the files are nor restorable with AB4B ?

Then I tried to role back to my old ARPL Bootloader with the same config, but still then its a new 7.1 system.

Do I really lost my complete configuration and my restore capabilities?

Maybe I should have read more before update - I thought , the configuration is on the data disk, and will be read after the DSM is (re)installed.

Any hints for me?
