  1. Hello everyone,

i planned an update from dsl 6.2.3 to 7.0.1 from jun's loader to repill on m'y baremetal serveur 4x2tb + 1 nvme.

I already prepare my second USB Key and it's works with other 4hdd.

But non on m'y production serveur i would like to do it.

Could you explain how to process ?

    - from dsm directly update ans during reboot replace USB Key?

Or - shutdown and replace m'y USB Key and do migrate?

    Thanks for help

what version did you came from?

    vm or baremetal?

if you have access to serial then you should see a log when booting up, anything special like errors, drivers not loading?

whats the loader? if you just updated from 6.2.3 to 7.0.1 you would either need to undo the unfinished update (and keep the old loader)  or continue with a new redpill loader

    Hi,

    From version 7.0-41890 to 7.0.1-42218.

From loader tiny core to tiny core.

    How I can undo install?

I can provide serial log if needed

Hello, i am new to this forum Today, i started to install my first "NAS", but i ran into some problems.

Because i am very new to the topic, i decided to follow a YouTube Tutorial.

But when i tried to search my usb stick and select it, this weird errow message comes up:
    image.thumb.png.918154abb9a123471a1d4313b02b3eb3.png

So my loader is definitely on the SanDisk and i also tried a different USB Stick as well. And of course, i tried a USB 2.0 port, but always the same error code.
And the second option "Realtek" should by my second network card, since my pc got two.

And i don´t know what to do, since the system obviously saw the usb stick, but could not select it. If i skip this part of the tutorial, the "Synology" boots in the screen where you have to put your .pat file in, but stops the installation at about 60%.

    Could anybody please help me?

    Thank you [emoji4]

This would be the tutorial i followed. I tried to install the DSM on Bare Metal and not on a VM, but i think that both are very similiar, and that was the best tutorial i could find.

Just put inside of userconfig file using vi the value of the vendor id and the product id
    0781 and 05581

That board has UEFI only boot capabilities.

I will tell you I've been able to boot that board fine with the older TTG 7.0.1 boot images I have built. I have not tried with the tinycore stuff yet

Check my reply on thi link i got a j5005 too and it works like a charm network take time to start but except that, its ok:
    https://github.com/pocopico/tinycore-redpill/issues/8

finally i managed to create a uefi bootable flash drive. the steps are very easy but it took me about the whole day to figure out.
after writing redpill tc loader image to your flash drive, you need a linux machine to add the uefi boot.
in my case, i have a notebook with linux mint installed (latest edge edition).
assuming that my flash drive was /dev/sdb, this is what i've done:

    Mount the filesystem:
    sudo mount -o umask=000 /dev/sdb1 /mnt
Write the MBR and install the grub files required for legacy BIOS boot on the drive: (i don't know if this step is really needed but anyway it works)
    sudo grub-install --no-floppy --boot-directory=/mnt/boot --target=i386-pc /dev/sdb
Install /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI and other grub files required to load grub from a 64-bit UEFI firmware:
    sudo grub-install --removable --boot-directory=/mnt/boot --efi-directory=/mnt --target=x86_64-efi /dev/sdb
    Unmount the filesystem:
    sudo umount /dev/sdb1

Compiled 7.0.1 with last BSP patch and works perfect ;)

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CqqhO-TBdwOff0dH54iP-XPdrhzgvtNR/view?usp=sharing

    - Add UEFI support.
    - Deleted twice EFI folder.
    - Fixed SynoBoot_EFI place.
    - Compiled with last BSP Patch for 7.0.1.
    - Insmod efi_gop into EFI.
    - Tested with Baremetal and works fine (Astock 3455-ITX).
    - After installation (the reboot process can take 15-20 minutes) you have to install File Station manually: https://www.synology.com/en-us/support/download/DS918+#system (select DSM 7.0), find and download File Station SPK and install it in Package Center.

I am interested by a working on for ASrock J5005-ITX.
If someone have one of them, i can be really nice.

make sure you chose the SATA boot entry, and add the parameters.

Att the end of the installation

    1) Enable SSH and ssh into your DiskStation

    2) Become root ( sudo -i )

    3) Make a mount point ( mkdir -p /tmp/mountMe )

    4) cd into /dev ( cd /dev )

    5) mount synoboot1 to your mount point ( mount -t vfat synoboot1 /tmp/mountMe )

    6) modify grub

    7) Profit!

After Reboot the network Interface stops working and i can obtain no IP Adress.

Worst thing is i can't step back to the older version. The Web Assistant tells me i need to use a Installer file wiith version 6.2.2-24922 or later....

    Any ideas?
