[Premature upgrade to 5.2]

It worked perfectly! I created a new boot drive with the 5.2 bootloader, plugged it in and voila, everything was good.

I was running 5.1 on my HP 54L, and stupidly didn't turn off auto-upgrade. It upgraded itself to 5.2 and as we know, that doesn't work. Now that the 5.2 bootloader is ready, can I simply install that loader on the USB stick, or do I have to downgrade from 5.2 to 5.1 and then upgrade using a 5.2 bootloader?
