@Ziomalsky :
I could upgrade an ESXI to 6.1 with no problem (download from Synology site).
The underlying server is a Dell T130 (low end config).
I never use XPEnology on a barebone computer...
Failed on VMware Workstation 12.0.1
After the 6.1 upgrade, the Web console say the harddisk is moved to DS3615xs and ask me to recover (loop)
Both upgrade and new install failed in the same way

Always start from Disk 3(bay-3) and so on? VM Workstation 11
My setup is
VMware Workstation 11
+ DSM_DS3615xs_5022.pat
+ XPEnoboot_DS3615xs_5.1-5022.2.vmdk (IDE 0:0) ----> Show in Bay 1 in DSM (aka "Disk 1")
+ HDD-A.vmdk (SCSI 0:0) ----> Show in Bay 3 in DSM (aka "Disk 3")
+ HDD-B.vmdk (SCSI 0:1) ----> Show in Bay 4 in DSM (aka "Disk 4")
Qusetion now:
1. How can I make the vmdk in SCSI 0:0 being "inserted" into DSM's Bay 1?
2. How can I hide the XPEnoboot boot vmdk
I also tried for following setup and get the same result....
VMware Workstation 11
+ DSM_DS3615xs_5022.pat
+ XPEnoboot_DS3615xs_5.1-5022.2.iso (IDE 0:0 CDROM)
+ HDD-A.vmdk (SCSI 0:0) ----> Show in Bay 3 in DSM (aka "Disk 3")
+ HDD-B.vmdk (SCSI 0:1) ----> Show in Bay 4 in DSM (aka "Disk 4")
VMware Workstation 11
+ DSM_DS3612xs_4528.pat
+ NB_x64_5032_DSM_50-4528_Xpenology_nl.iso (IDE 0:0 CDROM)
+ HDD-A.vmdk (SCSI 0:0) ----> Show in Bay 3 in DSM (aka "Disk 3")
+ HDD-B.vmdk (SCSI 0:1) ----> Show in Bay 4 in DSM (aka "Disk 4")
