AHCI is what you should use. DSM will create the RAID when you set up a volume.

Is there a way to initialize the drives from the 6405 BIOS?

Yeah it is...just not sure if I can leave them in Ahci...will test when back to computer

Try to build a DS3622xs+ with the Adaptec aic94xx SAS/SATA driver. Install the controller and build using the following:

    ./rploader.sh clean

    ./rploader.sh update

    ./rploader.sh fullupgrade

    ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+

    ./rploader.sh identifyusb

    ./rploader.sh satamap

    ./rploader.sh ext broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661 add https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pocopico/rp-ext/master/aic94xx/rpext-index.json

    ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661

Save your output (incase you have errors so that you can post it) then reboot

Thanks for the fast answer, installation went without any issues, but the drives connected to the Adaptec are not visible still. Any advice?

  3. Has anyone tried running this pci SATA while using 7.1.0 version of DSM? Any advices would be appretiated. Do I have to add it during the preparation for the build or can be added later. If possible to use it at all. Thanks in advance.

  4. OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have tried another flashdrive (32GB unnecessary which I use for other stuff) just out of curiosity and it rly booted into GUI right away...the boot process on the previous flashdrive was kinda normal...until it did not boot into gui...just straight into terminal with user tc@box

  5. tried to follow multiple tutorials, lately  topic/62221-tutorial-installmigrate-to-dsm-7x-with-tinycore-redpill-tcrp-loader

tried both rufus and Win32disk imager...

    tried both tinycore-redpill.v0.8.0.0.img and tinycore-redpill-uefi.v0.8.0.0.img

Can you try without the Nvidia card installed? Keep the build as simple as possible .. you can always add devices later.

Make sure your BIOS clock is right

Make sure your boot order is set to boot from USB

Set Bios boot to BIOS for tinycore-redpill.v0.8.0.0.img.gz , OR, UEFI for tinycore-redpill-uefi.v0.8.0.0.img.gz (BIOS is the safest choice that works on most hardware)

Turn on hot swap for all hard drives

Turn off virtualization if you have it

Mostly everything is as you said...But regarding the nvidia, I dont have any exchangable graphics card....one more thing I have found out...the home folder on the flash drive is empty...there really is no rploader.sh

  7. Hi, I have spent multiple hours retrying to create the flash drive etc. But it just wont boot into the GUI that it should, that wont be even an issue for me as I would connect using SSH, but that is not possible as the loader refuses the connection. Am I dumb or doing something very wrong? Would appretiate any advice.

It would help if you gave more information about your hardware.

Yeah ofc, I have a msi G45z87 MB with i5 4670k, multiple HDDs and 1 SSD, 12GB ram and old nvidia 960. I made it boot from the usb again, but got only terminal, not gui, and I cant connect to it using SSH.

  9. Hi, I am stuck at the first step..cant make the system boot from the USB which I tried to create as UEFI and CSM/LEGACY. System just wont find it at all or it booted like 2 times, but not into GUI. Am I doing something wrong? The flashdrive is working correctly (completely new one).
