  1. I install 6.2.3 on my HP N54L, most thing working fine but issue exists with Download Station.

Uploading torrent file to it will have a "operation failed" error, but definitely this is not the torrent file problem, since I enabled "folder monitoring" for BT/NZB, when I upload the torrent file to monitored folder, Download Station is able to grab it and start download.

And I also have the genuine DS212j which doesn't have such issue, any idea?

just installed an old version (6.1.7) on an old hp n36l microserver. i chose the 6.1.7 because i've been told that later versions have issues with the built-in NIC and i have no spare pci NIC.

i would like, however, to try and upgrade in the future. but since the n36l lacks a com port, i have no way of debugging during the procedure, unless i activate a console over vga.

earlyprintk=vga shows me some output, console=tty0 does jack s**t. is this possible at all, short of rebuilding the kernel?

    TIA

I am using Gen 7, with N54L CPU, so basically same family, using 1.03b loader + 6.2.3 the on board NIC works without problem, although I already have a Intel Pro 1000 PT Dual Port server NIC on it.

    hi,

as some people requested hwmon kernel drivers and they do not fit the extra.lzma (yet) and we need some testing here we go

    ...

    for 3615, DSM 6.1

    Hi,

Do we have a version for 6.2.3?

Just tried on HP N54L and I get "invalid module format", from dmesg I see this:

    i2c_piix4: version magic '3.10.102 SMP mod_unload ' should be '3.10.105 SMP mod_unload '

So we need this to be compiled with newer kernel again?

Most multi-bay eSATA enclosures use a SATA multiplier to access the disks within the enclosure.  DSM unfortunately does not support SATA multipliers.  If you post the model of the tower we may be able to confirm this for you.

But official Synology DX517 eSATA expansion unit is actually using Marvell 88SM9705 SATA multiplier......so in terms of kernel support it should have (I looked into kernel config on some normal Linux platform, we can only decide to support PMP or not, but not based on chipset)

  5. I just installed 6.2.3 on my HP N54L (BIOS mod applied), trying to connect my multi bay eSATA tower to it but only 1st disk can be detected.

Kernel dmesg showing: ata5: Apply Synology fast PMP boot

So I assume the kernel should have PMP support? It's at least better than when I was using with 5.x, the xpenology will get "link reset" log flooding when I connect eSATA tower (but when I connect a single disk eSATA, it works normally).

I had installed normal Linux to my N54L + eSATA and it can recognize everything well, so it's not a hardware issue, so any possible driver missing? (Marvell chipset also support PMP, so if it works I can do this with other platform again).

  6. - Outcome of the update:  SUCCESSFUL

    - DSM version prior update: 6.2-23739

    - Loader version and model: JUN'S LOADER v1.03b - DS3615xs+

    - Using custom extra.lzma: NO

    - Installation type: BAREMETAL - HP MicroServer N54L (Add-on Intel NIC)

    - Additional comments:  I did a fresh install with 6.2.3-* and machine will disappear from network after loading firmware, the only way to use this version is to use the same loader to install 6.2-23739 first, after setup then manual update to 6.2.3-25426.
