- Using custom extra.lzma: No
- Installation type: VM - ESXI 6.5 (FixSynoboot.sh), Intel i350-T4 Quad Port (Passthrough), LSI 9211-8i IT mode (Passthrough) with 8x3TB.
- Additional comments: VM with LSI HBA card passthrough should avoid update 3. Not detected (No IP) with LSI 9211-8i HBA card after update. Suspect the DSM not recognise the HBA therefore not booting DSM properly to obtain network IP. Replaced fresh copy of DS3615xs synoboot VM to boot and migrate, then replace fresh copy of DS3617xs synoboot VM and finally migrate back to DS3617xs DSM 6.2.3, follow with manually updating to 6.2.3-25426 Update 2. Stay with 6.2.3-25426 Update 2 until known solution.
I had a similar experience the only difference between my setup and Siang's is I'm using a Dell R610 with a PERC H200 HBA and no IT mode as it recognized the drives on first boot. The card is configured as a passthrough to the VM and I'm running Proxmox 6.3-3 as my hypervisor. Regardless of the differences I had the eact same problem. Once I removed the H200 passthrough from the VM. I was able to see the box again. I couldn't roll it back so i had to tear down the VM and start over. As Siang said DO NOT UPGRADE to UPDATE 3 for now!
