Wow what a great place you have here i am so pleased i managed to find this fourm.
So my aim is to upgrade from my 4 bay synology by building my own home sever with up to 10 bays available .
This will be my very first home build so would like to make sure it will be fine before buying the parts and building it .
This will mainly be a storage device for all my media DNLA server and for torrenting use, i dont really use plex so not that botherd if i have it or not .
Motherboard : ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4
CPU :AMD Ryzen 3 3200G 3.6 GHz Quad-Core
RAM : Kingston HyperX Fury 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200
I have done a lot of reading though the forum and as far as i can tell they should be fine .
The only other thing im not sure about is it worth having an internal ssd on my motherboard and if yes will that automatically show up when i do the install or do i have to change or add code on set up .
Introduce yourself here

Hello one and All 👋
I am Dean from the UK .
I have been looking to upgrade from a 4 bay Synology to building my own home server/nas with up to 10 bays .
I am a complete noob when it comes to Lynx and did not like the look of Freenas i was going to give unraid a go but after a lot of research it just didint seem as good or as easy as the DSM.
So i was on the brink of giving up and just saving up to pay for and 8 bay Synology i cant believe my luck that i stumbled across this forum my project is back on again .
I would just like to say what a great job has been done here so far may it long continue and a big thank you to everyone involed with the project.
