    edit: according to the manual you could check in bios for

    Graphics Configuration

    Primary Display -> IGFX

    Internal Graphics -> Enable

    (i'd expect it to work ootb when no extra graphics card installed but it cant hurt to try the settings above)

    is a monitor connected to a video out of the board and is working?

    Wow.  Scratching my head all day and your comment above brought it all to life.  Using a Supermicro X11SCH with Xeon 2124G and all I had to do was enable it in the BIOS and *pow* /dev/dri/card0 and renderD128 appeared.  Just before this step I did add the two extra v0.13.3 files mentioned in the top post to the "synoboot" USB, so this likely also helped.

    admin@MEDIA:/$ lspci -k | grep 'Kernel driver'

  2. This is really interesting work.  I have a Quadro P620 passed through to a Plex container on my Unraid box and works great - but I would much prefer to use Xpenology.

    I followed this guide to get it working on Unraid where a lot of the hard work is done in one of their plugins.

    Fingers crossed for us on the Xpenology side!

    Edit:

    ..although looks like the plugin has been pulled as Unraid now supports Nvidia directly.. [ link ]

  3. This has been a great thread to read and very timely for my circumstances.  Anyone had any success in taking this template a step further by editing the Jun loader within the dump file? I would like to edit the SataPortMap in the grub.cfg to go beyond the single disk limit in the template and use the pass through M1015 controller I have with 8 disks attached.  Using timonych's DS3617 file all I needed to change was the machine type from i440fx to q35 to see the PCIe card.

    I see a lot of users in this thread asking for help to edit the same partition to change the serial number and MAC address.  So I guess we are all looking for steps to achieve the same thing!

    Are the steps simply to download Jun's synoboot 3617_6.2 image file, make the changes to grub and somehow convert it to an lvm disk image to replace the 55MB one in timonych's restore file? maybe there is a much simpler way..
