  4. God this thread is already confusing enough without having to log in and see ( was "A new loader for latest DSM").

    Making it sound like something went wrong and searching the thread for 15 min looking for info only to find nothing.

    Yup lets make this thread a bit more of a mess to navigate :oops:

  5. Thanks for all the info in here, I successfully upgraded and everything i use is working.

    Dell Optiplex 760 Intel Core 2 Duo 8Gb Ram 4TB Western Digital Red

    Installed using

    https://mega.nz/#!iV0n3ISB!Q_E7yNEsoxbP ... Aqo4RjPUag (Intel img Hybrid UEFI/BIOS)

    Changed VID & PID using 0x prefix and my Mac

    Installed without a hitch runs great, Even my OwnCloud installation is still working and accessible form the net.

    Love you guys thanks for all your hard work.

    I have 1 question though, should I be regularly upgrading the boot image as they seem to keep getting updated ?

  6. I am hoping someone in here will be so kind to tell me what I am doing wrong, I am trying to install on a Dell Optiplex 760

    I downloaded the hybrid .img

    Edited the PID ViD & Mac

    I did not do the serial simply because I dont know how to generate, But I assume you dont need this if your not using quick connect.

    I am able to get it load up tells me it sees a drive from a prev install, I choose migrate, No matter what I do it reached 56% and Error 13.

    Will someone direct me to proper files/ method for my Optiplex 760 non UEFI bare metal ?

    Thank you all kindly.

  7. I am saving $ myself for the real deal, Cant wait but will always run a DIY box and have much love for the Dev's, Thank you guys, pay no attention to the pains in the ass bitching about when it will be avail, Take your time, I just wish it was legal for you to actually charge for your services, Is there a current link for donations ? :grin::eek::shock:

  8. Doesn't work for me, Says ( The update you are applying is not compatible with this version of DSM please get the compatible file and try again )

    I got it finally, I had to install the full 5.2-5644 then apply Update 5

    POWER & UPS are working on DSM 5.2-5644.5

    To downgrade the version, you have to change this file:

    - etc.defaults/VERSION (i use winscp over 22 PORT)

    - put this lines in to it

    majorversion="5"

    minorversion="0"

    buildphase="hotfix"

    buildnumber="4482"

    smallfixnumber="0"

    builddate="2014/04/18"

    - save it & exit

    - go to DSM & reinstall the latest ver. with 5.2-5644.5

  9. Version: 5.2-5644-8

    (2016/04/13)

    Fixed a security vulnerability regarding Samba file service (CVE-2016-2118, also known as Badlock).

    Note: This update does not require system reboot.

    Does anyone know if this is safe to install with XPEnoboot 5.2-5644.5

  10. I appreciate the help, But I just ordered an Optiplex 760 3.06 GHz core2 duo 8 GB ram on eBay for 45 $ Will wait and try it on that.

    Dell Optiplex 745/755/760 is about perfect for Xpenology. My favorite platform. The only downside is power efficiency is not great.

    Ya I had a 745 and a 755 that were given to me, used both for NAS 745 was never cleaned loaded with crap. blew several caps

    The 755 is the one im running now but it's starting to go, cant wait to get the 760 looks like new. :grin:

  11. OK I have determined there is some kind of hardware incompatibility with DSM 5.2.5592 & XPEnoboot 5.2-5592.2 on Dell Optiplex 745 & 755.

    I managed to do a clean install on another Bare metal to 5592 Update 2, ran perfect rebooted several times then swapped it into the 745 first. booted normally twice then back to the same errors seen in above image. Same results on Optiplex 755

    Thank you guys for trying to help.
