if you don’t have nvidia GPU you have to comment out some files. Also if you run this on older CPU there is another thing you need to comment

Hi POCOPICO. Thanks for all the hard work you have put into this project, much appreciated. I really enjoy using DSM for small stuff. :)

I use this on Proxmox and I have been able to get DS3615xs bromolow-7.0.1-42218 working fine :). Sadly I am not able to update to the 7.1 nor have I been able to get DS3622xs+ working. Is this an issue with my hardware or my options? I would just like to get to 7.1 at least in DS3615xs... I have seeing your advice about the GPU. I have not passthrough my GPU to proxmox; would that be the reason I can get DS3622xs+ working correctly?

Is there any advice to upgrade my current working DS3615xs bromolow-7.0.1-42218 to 7.1.0?

i tried the steps, but gotten corrupt pat file at 40% - 41%
will try to investigate, if not, will try the 2 step; ie. 7.0.1-42218 to 7.1.0-42661

Hi hi. Did you ever get this working? I get the corrupted file over and over.....

  3. Again with that file corrupted. Can someone please help me fix this? What is the issue? What the the problem? I am using Proxmox as my hypervisor. I get into DSM "ok"... but then this happens.

So far, a total of three platforms have been successfully installed with BAREMETAL.
The method is to start from 7.0.1 build as guided by @pocopico
It is a two step update build method.

The rest of the platforms still have errors, so I will continue to report bugs to @pocopico.

    The following commands were used.

    [DS3622xs+]

    ./rploader.sh update now

    ./rploader.sh fullupgrade now

    ./rploader.sh serialgen DS3622xs+

    ./rploader.sh identifyusb now

    ./rploader.sh satamap now

    ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218

    ./rploader.sh clean now

    ./rploader.sh build broadwellnk-7.1.0-42661

    ./rploader.sh clean now;  rm -rf /mnt/sdb3/auxfiles;  rm -rf /home/tc/custom-module;  ./rploader.sh backup now;

Going to try and do these commands now and see if I can get this installed. I am 15+ hours down trying to get this installed on Promox and nothing works :(.

Anyone know how to get DSM installed on proxmox correctly? I have read about 4 different tutorials in here and none work. I dont know where I am messing up :(

This script is a tool that runs on tinycore.

I don't know how Proxmox works, but it seems to be available if you run tinycore.

Thanks for this piece of information. I am not sure yet how to get it working but at least I know how to get Tiny Core running so I will work from there to get this script working :).

EDIT: I got the script to load. I followed all steps, I think, and everything looked good. However, when it was done, I did the reboot and I am not able to access the DSM install page via IP. I think it was maybe that I dont have the SATA drives correct? I dont know really :(. I also just added the same drivers that you have in your video, dont know if that will cause issues as well.

  6. Hello all.

I want to thank you in advance for the help. I found this project a while ago and have wanted to pass by and see if this will help me in my needs :).

Right now I have  NAS (PR4100 from WD) that I use for PLEX top my home (in network) and also for my mother and mother in law (out of network far Far FAR from my location lol). The PR4100 does its job, it loads all my videos for myself and transcodes all the video for the others streaming from their homes. The issue I have is that WD has horrible community and almost NO updates. They dont really care about their users of the NAS in my opinion and many others on their forums.

I was thinking that building my own NAS would be great but the only program I knew of was FreeNAS and I heard bad things about it so I never tried it. I would like to share my PARTS and see if anyone can give me some advice.

CASE: Something small, ill take recommendations if anyone has them :)

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Processor

MOBO: ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard

    RAM: Team Xtreem 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3-2666 Memory

STORAGE: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

    - WD Red 10TB NAS Hard Drive

    - WD Red 10TB NAS Hard Drive

    - WD Red 10TB NAS Hard Drive

    - WD Red 10TB NAS Hard Drive

POWER: Corsair SF 450 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply

Now, I was reading that I might need some time of SATA controller for the hard drives and I believe that goes on the PCI Express slot on the MOBO. If I get that, then I can not get a GPU and I think a need a GPU to transcode video better. Am I wrong/correct?

Honestly any information would be great. Thanks again to all!

PS. Right now my NAS does PLEX, file backups, and TORRENT download/upload. I would need this to be able to at least do that same and be able to connect from the outside word like a CLOUD storage to access files on the fly.
