Does anybody know a step by step guide how to upgrade? I am on 1.02.a & DSM 6.1 and want to upgrade to 1.03b and 6.2.
Figured I have to create a new boot stick with 1.03b at first, and boot up the system with it...can I than just click the update button in DSM and the procedure runs by it's own?
Just plug new USB stick and follow on-screen instructions. It may propose you migration to new hardware. I did it with ds3615xs to ds918+ in a same way.

Yes, that one.

Recent feedback for Optiplex 3020 - it has Realtek RTL8151GD NIC, and that one isn't supported on ds3615xs, only ds918+. Even if there was some discussions about poor network performance of Realtek NICs, I can confirm (xpenology 6.2 ds918+) upload from Win10 client at 110MB/s without any drops, download few megs less, like 107-108MB/s.

Seems working fine even with older Optiplex -

I've got it running on Optiplex 7010, but now moving to Optiplex 3020, as it's using only single 12V rail, but with specific power connector. Both of them are working nicely with latest DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 2 (7010 with 1.03b/ds3615xs, 3020 with 1.04b/ds918+), including VMM. Just follow the official guides to make it working.

You can install this in docker. Input "watch sensors" at bash terminal of container for online monitoring CPU temperatures.
Perfect, thanks a lot for this. I'm thinking how to store this data... Maybe RRD? Any suggestions?
