Remove all but 1 drive incase you screw something up, boot into Ubuntu live USB - mount the system partition and edit the /etc.defaults/version file - save your changes and reboot.
Synology assistant or find.synology.com should detect the NAS as migrateable and you can then select the PAT file to install.
I was stupid and upgraded to 6.0.3 on my N54L and had to use this to recover.
Once the system has started, it will detect the system partitions are damaged on the other drives - so you need to click the Repair option but thats about it - no data loss.
Do i need to make the similar process since i am not on ubuntu but windows.

The problem with my N54L is that if I use any newer loader then 1.01 (e.g. 1.02b) then the box is not visible in network. Cannot see it using web not using Synology Assistant. And the problem of 1.01 is that is supports only DSM 6.0.2
I am on intel, need to ask will this be an issue for me as well?

That depends. If you are on AMD then no. If you are on Intel then yes.
I am on Intel, but is there any specific one required?

With the features available and price i guess it is feasible?
-
it definitely is hard to afford.

i think the new boot loader 1.0.2b resolved the issue of loading the updated modules.
there is also a nice tutorial by polanskiman that you can follow to load the needed drivers

When booting the virtual machine for the first time, you need to select xpenoboot install/upgrade and hit enter to start the installation process. Is that it or i need to do something more. Since i think i am done with the update.

My router b) does not support ddns, router a) does. Can I configure the ddns on this router en do a port forward on router b) ?
Which router are you using atm?
-
Ah ok thanks. Yes I'm not worried about using quickconnect as maybe a little concerned about security so just vpn into my router to access DSM.
Can you please mention which vpn are you using with your router?

Best of luck with the build.
