  1. Is there any workaround to get the ESXI (6.0) install to work from scratch?

    See my post here

It doesn't use this tool but it's easy to deploy and use.

I have no idea what is happening; I used that for numerous installs on hp gen8 microserver (not all mine) and worked every single time with no issues. Here is an image with the boot drive and the instal drive, a 16 gb virtula disk (vmdk) created on the datastore; the rest of my drives are RDM's.

I upgraded my ESXi to latest 6.5 and also installed the webUi and used your image:

Everything installed flawlessly with latest PAT. Thanks a lot!!

  2. I was planning on doing some testing of this during holidays but it seem taht the download link are temporaly disable so is there somebody that will be good enough to provide me with an earlier version.

    Thanks in advance.

The downloads are on the first page. You're just not looking close enough...

The links you're talking about will return 404 errors.

  3. Then I added a new SCSI 1GB virtual drive to test but web installer tells me that no drive is found. What should I do to get drives recognized?

    Thanks.

try adding 8 gig of storage, did read some posts that all < 6 is not enugh for DSM to use the disk

I tried 16GB, no luck

    I'm on ESXi 6.0, HP microserver gen7.

I used the menu to upgrade to 2.3, reboot and changed the boot drive from SCSI to IDE. Then I added a new SCSI 1GB virtual drive to test but web installer tells me that no drive is found. What should I do to get drives recognized?

    Thanks.

Esxi portion of 2.3 which address this issue has not been released yet.

    Ok, thank you.

  4. I just loaded esxi again just to verify it one more time.

It work's without any issues. I'm using a hp gen8 microserver. Others with gen8 and esxi also got it working with ease. What is your hardware?

If you want start a TeamViewer session and send me a pm with the details, I'll join and try to see what is happening.

    I have a HP gen7 microserver with 4GB RAM. It's not a big deal, I'll just wait for Quicknick's 2.3.

    Hi Koroziv,

I already tried your image while reading this topic and just tried it again. I always get "Failed to format the disk. (35)" error. I added different types of (virtual) HDDs SCSI/IDE and different controller types but I get the same error. I used latest pat from Synology.
