i have tried to use the already comfigured packages, but i am trying to install this on my Dell PE2950 Server With Perc 5/1 RAID card and Broadcom Netextreme ll NIC, but when i boot the server from the images the Synology Assist Manager cant find the server, it works great in ESXi enviroment. Any thougts ?

First of all, you need to get a copy of synobios.ko file from rd.gz or hda1.tgz file, both of them are inside of the DSM pat file, which is actually a tar archive.
Let SetMicropId() function return a valid NAS ID
what command to use, etc ??? i do have worked quite a bit with linux so i think i will manage this with som help

Hi. can someone please help me with boot image bulding? i have tried to follow this topic: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=515 but i dint quite understand it, it would be very helpfull if someone could write a "boot image guide for dummies" a step for step or if someone have a link to such a guide. i am trying to make xpenology work on my Dell PE2950.

thanks for replys, i have this hardware laying around and would like to build a NAS of it. i have managed to boot the server using this file: XPEnology_DS3612xs_2668_4.1++ but it seems it doenst support the NIC's it seems to find the RAID controller. My NIC are 2x Broadcom BCM5708C. Doen anyone know how i can compile this boot image with the drivers for these NIC's ? any help would be much apreciated

Hi, i have a Dell Poweredge 2960 with RAID controller, i am wondering if i can install DSM 4.2 on this machine? i have tested DSM on Vmware and want to install it on the Dell Server.
