smoothmove Posted March 17, 2020 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2020 Yes. HP Microserver Gen 10 takes the 918+ using 1.04b Install the newest DSM and Viola. Boot to USB. Migrate. And done.
MichaelM Posted March 18, 2020 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2020 can you please provide more info? I have Gen10 and I tried 1.04 form Jun's post and it doesn't work for me. 6.2.1 nor 6.2.2 thx
endormmc Posted March 18, 2020 Share #4 Posted March 18, 2020 What went wrong with your installation? Try first with another disk (not one of the four from 918+) and when you can install 6.2.1 and log in, shut down and put the 4 disks from 918+. System detects that hdd come from another Synology box and makes a migration. This is the easy part.

smoothmove Posted April 3, 2020 Share #7 Posted April 3, 2020 you don't need to inject anything. Allow the factory bios settings. Install a vanilla Jun 1.04b 918+. The only failures I had installing were USB stick issues.

Use a USB 3.0 port on the backside of the Gen10. - configure the BIOS to boot from USB stick partion 1. Unselect partition 2. - if you use clean (new or test) disks first to try; make sure to boot into UFI shell. Type “RAID”. in the marvel config util verify disk mode is set to AHCI. clear any RAID configs on each disk.
