Hi,

 

I have XPENOlogy running on VMWare workstation 6 (XPE 6.0.1), the vm has 1 GB of ram  (which is minimum) and 1 cpu but does not want to boot.

VMWare workstation has 6GB of ram and plenty of cpus.
Message:

1.select other host

2.decrease memory

3.lower number of virtual machines running

 

Any idea here?

I suggest , 2 core , 4gb ram for VM DSM ...

You cannot use VMM when DSM is running as a VM itself. Technically it's possible (you can enable that option in VMWare) but the performance of VM inside of VMM will be like running Windows Vista on Pentium 133Mhz.

nested hypervisor and you need type 1 hypervisor (Vmware esxi, kvm, etc..) if you are using windows than try hyper v
