Sata portmapping problem

Question

Hello,

 

i got an xpenology system with the latest bootloader DSM6.1 DS3617XS.

 

Ik got an problem with my disk, the sataportmap but i cannot figure out what the right order is. Can somebody help me?

 

Ik got 9 3TB disks, 8 on the SAS controller en 1 3TB on the motherboard. And i got 1 SSD as cache on the motherboard.

 

Now ive got internalportcfg="0x3fff" but i only see 7 disks.

6 onboard + 8 on sas controller = 14

as the default config is about 12 disks and the onboard controller comes first the last 2 disks of the 8 port controller will be missing i guess

 

internalportcfg="0x3fff" is ok for 14 disks but you also have to set usbportcfg and esataportcfg to a pattern that does not overlap with the internel defined ports (0x0) for testing) and maxdisks has to be set to 14

Ok, i will try:

 

internalportcfg 0x3fff

usbportcfg 3c000 (i have 4 usb port so it should be this)

esataprtcfg 0x0 (i will not use these)

maxdisks 14

only problem is that this will "break" your raid after installing a major update (full 200MB dsm file) and you will have to redo this modification to get it up again, the breaking part can be prevented if the reboot after installing is used to boot a live linux and mod the new installed dsm before it starts the first time

 

another solution might be to keep the default config (12) and disable 2 onboard ports (if possible)

Hmm thats something to keep in mind, i changed the settings like in my previous post, and everything is working perfect now. Only thing i change else was maxdisks, i changed it to 24.
