matthewharmon102 Posted January 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2018 Hi, I have a Gen8 running DSM 6.1.4-51217 Update 5. I have been trying to get Virtual Machine manager up and running. The package installs fine, but when I run it, it only allows me to select Volume 3 as the storage for the VMs. I am using PetaSpace to manage volume 1, which is made up of a combination of drives. Am i unable to use this volume for VMM?
Dfds Posted January 2, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2018 VMM requires btrfs files systems, what's your volume 1 formatted as?
matthewharmon102 Posted January 2, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted January 2, 2018 That will explain it. It is SHR. I'm guessing there is no easy way of "converting" without losing my dataSent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

BTRFS and SHR are very two very different and totally unrelated things. BTRFS is a file system. SHR is a form of raid created by Synology namely Synology Hybrid Raid (SHR). I supposed you wanted to say ext4 which is the common file systems used by Synology.
