maxime Posted December 10, 2017 #1 Posted December 10, 2017 Hi to everyone. I'm trying to remote sync two folders of two Xpenology NAS (both last 6.1.4 DSM). I understand that I have to install Cloud Station Server on the first Nas and Cloud Station ShareSync on the other Nas; on both nas I enabled the Rsync service (on port 22) and authorized the rsync service on a user (pippo). Pippo is an admin user and he has got r/w permitions on all folders. On "server Nas" I selected which folders to share On both Nas I forwarded these ports: 22 and 873 for external access. The problem is that when open Cloud Station ShareSync and I try to make a connection to the "server NAS", using Public IP of "server Nas" user: pippo password: pippo's password This error is shown: ERROR on connection. Check your Lan settings and retry I don't understand where is the problem... Do I have to forward others port? Anyone can help me? Thank you for your support!
toastboy Posted December 11, 2017 #2 Posted December 11, 2017 I'm pretty sure you have to specify the port number along with the ip address if you haven't done that already. Same thing with remote connecting to any other service as the NAS is only listening on a specific port. So if you have your router forwarding external port 22 to internal port 22... "x.x.x.x:22" or something like that. You could also forward ports that don't match. I have a random external port forwarded to an internal 5000 so I can access my DSM externally (sometimes).
sbv3000 Posted December 11, 2017 #3 Posted December 11, 2017 cloud station might also need tcp port 6690 open. also have you enabled on the server the folder to allow sync 1
Dfds Posted December 11, 2017 #4 Posted December 11, 2017 As sbv3000 said port 6690 needs to be open for cloud station to work, below is a list of the ports used by the various Synology applications: https://www.synology.com/en-uk/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/General/What_network_ports_are_used_by_Synology_services 1
maxime Posted December 12, 2017 Author #5 Posted December 12, 2017 Thank you! The problem was very very stupid: simply a type mistake! I typed 6630 instead of 6690 in the router's port forwarding page! Thank you Dfds for this link, it could be very useful!
maxime Posted December 12, 2017 Author #6 Posted December 12, 2017 (edited) Do you know if there is any way to see the sync speed? Edited December 12, 2017 by maxime
Dfds Posted December 12, 2017 #7 Posted December 12, 2017 No worries, glad you got it sorted. I've not used cloud station so don't know if there's a way to see the sync speed.
