New to XPEnology but not Synology

All, noob just signed up, experienced with Synology (running DS1817+ and DS1815+ at home).

 

Looking to see if XPEnology can work for setting up some remote machines that I am planning to do, I am based in UAE (although I am Swedish!) and I want to host some stuff out of country, in Turkey, UK and possibly Sweden and Poland, so I need some cheaper boxes to enable that.

you should plan with intel cpu's

depending on formfactor/size and funktion there is a wide span of whats possible

as you are planing remote then 10Gbit is not important and does not need a pcie slot, so mini-itx with one slot for a 4/8 port controller is a option (like 2 or 4 onbard, 4 or 8 as pcie card)

when hardware video transcodig is to be used then read about the 916+ image
