Padmane Posted November 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Would it be possible to recover my synology data drives from my DS212J into a XPEology server that I've set up using a HP Gen8 server? Thanks Philip Edited November 22, 2017 by Padmane

Thanks Philip Yes you should be able to move the disks from your old unit to the gen8, however you might want to have a look at this first: https://www.synology.com/en-global/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/General/How_to_migrate_between_Synology_NAS_DSM_5_0_and_later Also you say that that you've setup the gen8 already, it might be better to set it up from scratch with the disks from the ds212. Lastly do you have a backup just in case things go wrong?
