vx342 Posted November 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2017 Hi, My DS1515+ is dead (intel C2538 bug) since one month, i'm waiting the RMA from my reseller's since Synology doesn't take rma directly... My 5 disks (shr1) are OK and i'm wondering if i can recover my data using xpenology rather than ubuntu's method. I can't remember wich dsm version was installed on the DS1515+ (probably 6.x). Thanks. 0 Dfds Posted November 17, 2017 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2017 You don,t say what hardware you're planning to use but yes you should be able to put the disks into another machine, boot from a USB using jun's 1.02b loader & Synology assistant should say the disks are from a DS1515+ & ask if you want to migrate. I'd have a look through the forums to give yourself an idea of what systems work, I.e. network drivers etc. before proceeding though.
