Stuck at "booting from kernel"

Question

Posted

Hi,
I posted on here yesterday about an issue with my previously working HP microserver that seems to of developed a fault, after looking into it further the boot hangs at the "booting from kernel" stage, does anyone know what could cause this issue?

Thanks

Thank you for the reply, i'm not sure whats gone wrong then as I can't find it using the find.synology anymore, it's been working perfectly fine for the past 5/6 months and now I can't connect to it in any way.

What boot loader version are you using?

Is there a possibility that your DSM has updated automatically?

Check your MAC settings in grub match the onboard NIC and also if you have a DHCP reservation on the router, delete that and clear its DHCP pool.

Try a newly flashed boot drive

Plus the obvious, check network cables, swap switch ports, maybe also try a live ubuntu session to check the nic on the server is ok.

I know I'm posting in a very old topic, however I have exactly the same behaviour as Salmon81.

I had install DSM 7.0.1 on my my HP N54L by following this french tutorial :

The installation worked well, but after reboot my NAS has no IP address.

Synology Assistant don't find it neither a nmap -sP 192.168.0.1-255

If I reboot under TinyCore, the NAS is responding from ping and ssh.

Do you have any idea how to join Synology after normal reboot ?
