dennusb Posted November 27, 2013 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2013 Hi Guys, I have a strange problem. When i got my N54L i installed 1 disk, i moved all the data from my old Synology DS410J en then inserted the remaining 3 disks. I added them to volume1 and all went well. Now DSM says "You can expand the volume to 2780 GB". When i start the expanding it starts and after one minute it stops and keeps giving the "you can expand" message. When i look in /var/log/messages i see : Nov 27 09:21:36 kernel: [53524.346442] EXT4-fs warning (device dm-0): reserve_backup_gdb:872: reserved block 1025 not at offset 0 Nov 27 09:21:37 volumehandler.cgi: (fs_vol_expand.c)SYNOFSExpand(103):Failed to '/sbin/resize2fs -fpF /dev/vg1000/lv > /dev/null 2>&1', WEXITSTATUS® = 1 Nov 27 09:21:37 volumehandler.cgi: volume_manage_with_temp_dev.c:105 Failed to expand file system on /dev/vg1000/lv Nov 27 09:21:37 volumehandler.cgi: volume_lib.cpp:957 Failed to expand file system on /dev/vg1000/lv Nov 27 09:21:37 volumehandler.cgi: volumehandler.cpp:1252 failed to expand unallocated file system: /volume1 Nov 27 09:22:45 kernel: [53593.302445] EXT4-fs warning (device dm-0): reserve_backup_gdb:872: reserved block 1025 not at offset 0 Nov 27 09:24:35 kernel: [53703.403118] EXT4-fs warning (device dm-0): reserve_backup_gdb:872: reserved block 1025 not at offset 0 Does somebody know how to fix this? k0ste Posted November 28, 2013 Share #2 Posted November 28, 2013 For a moving from a real Synology to XPEnology, you don't need a move disk's one by one, massive can be moved without loosing data with a fresh install DSM.
