Ricky Posted October 6, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2017 I found Hyper-V 2016 support PCI-E pass through Is that possible pass through USB device on PCIE bus to boot DSM on physical disk? I want to try it but may be some one else already tried If work can solve DSM 6.1.x can't work on HV I think.
ZaFord Posted October 6, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 6, 2017 Hi Ricky, I don't think it will work even if you manage to get the USB to pass-through. As I understand it, the Hyper-V drivers are now installed/used at the kernel level, so you'd still need a modified DSM 6.x kernel for it to work on Hyper-V
Ricky Posted October 6, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted October 6, 2017 OK, I give up Seems DSM 6.x is impossible work in Hyper-V in the future.
