Synology server communications

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I run a syslog server for testing and diagnostics on my systems and found some interesting DNS communications between my NAS's and the Syno servers, see below. You can see from the MAC addresses which is from a real or xpe box

Local User (MAC=68-05-CA-XX-XX-XX): 192.168.0.10 DNS -> 194.73.82.242 inquire global.download.synology.com

Most of these are 'obvious' like the update requests, but the 'payment' and 'keymaker' are interesting.
