newbi Posted November 22, 2013 #51 Posted November 22, 2013 Even though I've changed it in the vendor file I still can't get the right mac address. Have you guys got one partition on the USB showing up or two? I've only got one and maybe that's it. Quote
XPEH Posted November 22, 2013 #52 Posted November 22, 2013 This repack uses one partition for synoboot. It is correct. Quote

XPEH Posted November 22, 2013 #54 Posted November 22, 2013 I am using Midnight commander directly on DSM via SSH. Quote
extenue Posted November 22, 2013 #55 Posted November 22, 2013 Thank you Trantor, great work as usual If I weren't such a lazy a**, I'd have done it already for myself Any way, running great, even with the new update, only one thing bugs me: I can't add manual SMB shares, unlike the previous 4.2 releases, it resets on reboot :\ Any idea? et la marmotte elle met le chocolat sur le papier d'alu Quote

fonix232 Posted November 23, 2013 #59 Posted November 23, 2013 Hi Thanks, thanks a lot for your great job ! All working fine except SSD Caching. My SSD drive is show as HDD drive instead of SSD. See included image, the SSD model is VB02050EAVER. You'll have to modify the synoinfo config, and try to find the SSD ports layout. It is a pain in the ass, so all I can say is good luck :\ Thank you Trantor, great work as usual If I weren't such a lazy a**, I'd have done it already for myself Any way, running great, even with the new update, only one thing bugs me: I can't add manual SMB shares, unlike the previous 4.2 releases, it resets on reboot :\ Any idea? et la marmotte elle met le chocolat sur le papier d'alu Please in english, my French is a bit rusty (and very much nonexistent). Schnapps Posted November 23, 2013 #60 Posted November 23, 2013 Goooood work trantor!!! I haven't upgraded yet as I am still using the very stable 3211 but I will do it when I will find some free time for keyboard clapping! Quote
apejovic Posted November 23, 2013 #61 Posted November 23, 2013 Thanx for this work guys. I didn't test it yet, but I donate already. As soon as possible I give feedback. Quote
MarsManden Posted November 23, 2013 #62 Posted November 23, 2013 Simply just love all the hard work you guyz are putting into this project! 10 thumbs up!! Just upgraded my N54L from 3211 to 3810 without any problems. Of course all configuration was lost, but all data and all shares were there. Quote

jerry Posted November 23, 2013 #64 Posted November 23, 2013 @hotbullet, I edited the synoinfo.conf file. Change eth0_wol_options="g" and you should then be able to at least use the Synology Assistant WOL. If you did it right, you will see a checkmark in the Control Panel\Hardware\General. @Zarocq, what have you changed to get your N54L working with WOL? Quote
MarsManden Posted November 23, 2013 #65 Posted November 23, 2013 @Zarocq, what have you changed to get your N54L working with WOL? I'm not using WOL, so I don't know if it works. My system is running 24/7. Quote
Eduardo Posted November 23, 2013 #66 Posted November 23, 2013 @Zarocq, what have you changed to get your N54L working with WOL? Jerry, WOL working on my N54L. I woke it from router GUI (Tomato firmware). Working flawlessly here. Real MAC matching, of course, but I didn't change anything from 4.2. Quote
Borat Posted November 23, 2013 #67 Posted November 23, 2013 Just as a matter of curiosity (and I don't mean this as an insult or a doubt on trantor etc) but can anyone say that this build is secure and that no backdoors exist? I tried the 4.2 build and it was great on my N40L but I read 4.3 relies on something from a Chinese website. I don't understand fully what was involved with the change from 4.2 to 4.3 but I followed the every post in the thread. Once again, please don't take this as "I don't trust you guys" but I have to ask the question. Thanks for all your hard work on this. For now I'm considering NAS4free or OpenMediaVault. I love Synology products and I've owned a DS209-II from new. If only they would sell their DSM software then I'd buy it. Quote
Mentat Posted November 23, 2013 #68 Posted November 23, 2013 I can confirm that this build is working great with MicroServer HP ProLiant Gen8 Intel® Celeron® G1610T 2.30GHz, 1x2GB Dynamic Smart Array B120i/ZM is working I got mine for only 300 USD. I'll try the Power Button patch. Quote

vauhallan Posted November 23, 2013 #70 Posted November 23, 2013 Upgrade Working fine with my HP ProLiant N54L. Great Job ! When I triy to add "SSD caching" on my Volume, the system crash. I'm reading to help you to diagnoze this issue. Below the stack crash : Quote
jerry Posted November 23, 2013 #71 Posted November 23, 2013 Hello N54L users, just to make this clear: I have WOL running but the ONLY thing I can use to wake it up is the Synology Assistant on a PC within the network or the iPhone app DS Finder to wake it through the internet. Nothing else works. No magicpackets are working. I had this problem with 4.2 as well. So if you changed anything in 4.2 and upgraded then please tell me what you did in 4.2. My router also has a WOL function but this also won't work. Thanks Quote

From router GUI (Tomato 1.28) I can wake the N54L flawlessly. On 4.3 no need to mod anything. For me, working after the installation. Only on 4.2: http://nas1.cn/thread-64278-1-1.html 1. modify the /etc/synoinfo.conf wol_enabled_options=“” and eth0_wol_options="" to "g" 2. put the attached file to /usr/syno/etc/rc.d/ and give the file execuable permission。 S99ZZZ_Shutdown.rar (Edited to clarify 4.2 vs 4.3) Edited November 24, 2013 by Guest Quote
Mentat Posted November 24, 2013 #74 Posted November 24, 2013 You cannot use this, as S99ZZZ_Shutdown.sh is calling for a missing package! Quote
semson Posted November 24, 2013 #75 Posted November 24, 2013 Thanks a lot Trantor! Cant wait to put it on my newly bought N54L - unfortunately it is still in transit... Quote
